They say drugs like Lunesta work on the chemicals in your brain. Is it safe to take Lunesta the night before tripping?

i don't know about taking lunesta the night before tripping; what the result would be...but last week somebody took ambien (another hypnotic sleep aid) while still coming down from shrooms, and it led directly to pleasant and refreshing sleep. no ill effects to speak of with that drug, though it should be noted that ambien is an imidazopyridine, while lunesta is not exactly classified as any type of drug to my knowledge, as very little is known about exactly how it works; most likely effects GABA receptors associated with the benzodiazapine (xanax, etc) receptors, although it is definitely not a benzodiazapine. i've known many who regularly take benzos who trip as well and have had no ill effects. the only serious interaction i've seen listed for lunesata is GHB (the date rape drug). no known interactions with newer antidepressant medications either. basically, i don't know with any certainty that it would be a problem or that it wouldn't, but my non-doctoral knowledge says it PROBABLY won't be a problem.

Lunesta is very strange...After becoming very relaxed, I started to drift off to sleep...I started to think random thoughts, and all I saw was a door with a dull circle of light blocking it. As though my thoughts were behind the door, but something passive, yet forcefull was keeping me from opening the door. I fell asleep for 7 hours, and woke up a little drowsy( not much, really), but was very disappointed that it totally blocked any thought patterns, and the last, say, 1/2 hour in bed I couldn't remember. Felt fine rest of AM and day. No other meds were taken, save my nighty-nite bowl I have decided to use this tool with care, as it did provide me with good zzzzzzzzzz.
IMO, better allow more time between the 2. I'm assuming you were gonna dose the next day after taking Lunesta? Wait a day or two. Your mindset is the key, and your body/ mind should be ready to travel. That means in good health, clear thoughts, and a smile!!
BTW- You couldn't pay me to take Ambien. No way!!
Peace
