My back is killing me

Damn, yesterday I made a wrong move and sprained my back. It was quite painful yesterday but today its Hellish.
Taking 10 minutes to get out of bed, climbing the stairs on your elbows and knees, bellowing like an agonized bear at the slightest move.
I was ready for actiq, durgesic or methadone tablets. Shoot, I'm ready for snorting heroin if it just keeps the pain away. But what I got was fucking APAP + 20mg Codeine, to be taken one at a time. Tabs equivalent to 1gr poppyheads. Thanks a fucking lot doc
At the moment I'm experiencing some solace, by having drank a double vodka. I intend to take some hashish with that in a minute, and when the alcohol wears off I'm going to give the Codeine a go.
No hydrocodone, oxycodone or codones of any sort. Damn this sucks.

You might want to get that checked out

Maybe if you weren't a long-haired Wiccan mage your doctor would trust you with good drugs.

I don't have a tolerance for Opiates
But I want one, badly
The cannabis plan seems to work well: until now its less severe.

I would combine the codeine w/ some alcohol for maximum effect.
Keep in mind, I'm not TELLING you to do this, or even ADVISING that you do it. I'm just saying, if I was in your position, thats what *I* would do.
A little alcohol does me wonders for stretching out a pain prescription.

If you know a chiropractor, I would suggest going to one. Lots of years ago I hit my lower back against a doorknob but didn't feel anything unusual. The next day I woke up and I couldn't even move a muscle. My parents were able to get me to the chiro somehow (every movement had a repercussion all throughout my body) and he said I had a dislocated joint in my neck. He hooked me up to a machine for fifteen-thirty minutes, two little buttons[?] that stimulated the nerves or whatever by sending electricty through, and the next few days I just laid down. I don't know if that's anything similar to what you're going through, but I would get it checked out. I was only 14 at the time so I didn't do any opiates, but I sure wish I would have.

Do you have a history with back problems?
I had an incident where I 'sprained' my back (dislocated a disc just slightly enough for it to become inflamed).
Turns out that stuff lasts your entire life.
Drugs may be the worst thing for you right now, what may be the best thing for you (as it was for me) is gaining awareness of exactly what is wrong with your back -as in... trying to visualize exactly what the injury looks like, figuring out which pressure where causes it to hurt. What the muscles around the injury look like. etc
You will probably benefit greatly from advice on how to exercise and strengthen the muscles around the injury site, and how to take your physical load off the injury.
If your doctor advised physiotherapy I recommend you look into this AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. It was a month before I sought that sort of medical attention, the pain had become bad enough that I would nearly black out.
I was lucky, and after 2 months of physio my back had healed quite a bit, although it will never be quite the same.
Remember that when you do drugs to kill pain, you do not necessarily help the physical situation causing the pain, and in some cases you make it worse.
If you're smacking yourself up so that you can slouch on your back you could VERY easily FUCK YOURSELF UP FOR LIFE.
Careful mate.
Best wishes on your recovery.
