I am new at this and me and my cousin went hunting today in the woods in northern Pennsylvania and here is what we found:

Species #1

This I believe is a Russula(?)  Which are poisonous right?
Habitat: Forest, Decaying wood matter
Cap Color: Scarlet Red
Gills: Cream colored/white, attached to stem

Species #2

Not sure what these are. Maybe P. caerulipes? I'm new so there's no way i'm sure.
Habitat: Forest. Found mostly around decaying wood matter growing solitarily.
Spore Color: White
Cap: Brown with darker nipple looking tops
Stem Brown/Olive colored, white near the caps.  No sign of bluing.
Gills White, connected to stem

Thanks for helping ID.  I don't want to die eating poisonous shrooms.

No bluing + white spore print = Not Psilocybe.

I'm not in a helpful mood right now, Or i would be more accomodating.  a tad drowsy...

Welcome to Shroomery

Nice job on the request. One does look like a Russula. If the gills are white and attached as you say they are, then that is probably what it is. Lactarius can sometimes look similar, but if you cut the cap some milky stuff will ooze out. Russulas tend to also be very crumbly. Some Russulas are poisonous, but many are not. Some are edible. But it is very difficult to ID Russulas to species without lots of experience (or a microscope), so it's best to assume it's poisonous. Not sure what the second shroom is, but as CureCat said, white spore print is not a Psilocybe.

thanks for all the help. I'll keep in mind that white spore prints mean non psilocybe. Guess I learned something already being here.

Species #2 is in the genus Xerula. The stems of Xerula extend into the ground and attatch to roots or buried wood.
