It was an adventure to look for these, I had to walk like 3 kms upstream to find these, these grow in odd places... anything like a pasture. they grow on the border of the river directly on sandy soil... sometimes right in a vertical wall where there was a landslide thats why they call em landslide mushrooms, also they are very potent 2 big mushies and you get level 5 trip very very strong, as of right now im sporeprintig these beautys if anyone wants to trade. Im in colima mexico where i found these near the volcanoe

Can you explain more about the habitat and substrate you found these in?Is a person more likely to find them near a creek or river,or growing from a eroded wall of dirt.
Do they prefer red clay eroded walls or a more darker brown soil or something a bit more sandy?
I have been very interested in finding this mushroom but I have not had any luck yet.

They grow well along fields of sugar cane in Mexico and along roads with ounds of soil, as airdog said, landslides alonf roads, bit they love sugar habitats.
here is a picture from the mid 1950s of Wasson, Roger Heim, rolf Singer and others in oaxaca at A home near maria Sabinas home.
This is a small collection of a few hours work at a local sugar cane field in huautla de jimenez, Oaxaca, Mexico.

Notice the look of joy on some of their faces. Boy are they happy. Nice smiles.
Gee ma! Look at what i found. mjshroomer

Interesting - they do look like a host of other woodlovers so perhaps they to have common ancestry. I would love to see pics of the cystidia of these if anyone can arrange that, A gill fragment would be ideal.

Well it looks like this mushroom can fruit in a variety of places, I found these on a very deep creek that has a stream, mostly of dark sandy soil, no sugar cane assosiation i can see, but the landslides take trees down and i bet there is a lot of organic matter in the substrate, some where growing in plain vertical sandy walls with no other vegetation in it, some directly on the sand on the river banks, some seemed to grow from below the stones, I repeat with no other vegetation surrounding the mushrooms, but i found the biggest patch on this kind of a river beach that had a big conifer three in it, there is where i found the most bigger and abundant derrumbes growing on this same dark sand with mixed conifer mulch in it, and again very near stones, like if the stem was underside the stones, kinda like cubensis from dung. Ill go again an take some pictures in ther natural habitat

Very nice find... I assume with the prints you take, we'll hopefully see more of these around the shroomery... I've never seen one in person nor do I know too much about them, but i HAVE heard of them (thats how you know they're good, they're famous and elusive). A few questions though... Can these be cultivated, or do they have a relationship with something similar to amanitas? Any ideas on on potency (or potential potency) per gram vs a cubensis?
I'd ask for a spore print but i do believe the experts should take their shot at growing these (if possible), and making more prints before someone such as myself, with less experience, ruins it all...
Thanks for sharing your find with us, I look forward to pictures in their natural habitat...

I think they are twice as potent as cubensis easily, maybe even three times more potent, while you need like 6 mid sized cubensis to trip hard, with the landslides you only need 2 big ones
