Sleep deprivation as a trip

Anyone ever go a few days without sleeping? Me two friends used to take adderal to stay up for a few nights in a row. Once you get past that first hump of "I just wanna pass out" its quite easy to stay up. Because of my crazy work schedule, ive been up for 27 hours right now with no sleep. A few hours ago, I just wanted to sleep, but now I feel fine.
The interesting thing is after a few days, me and my friends would sort of start to hallucinate. Especially when high, but it wasnt necessary. The main hallucination was people in our peripheral vision, we called them "shadow people". When in a dark room or outside, it felt like once in a while we could see people around us, it was really weird. This was after three days of no sleep.
Besides that, there was just an overall trippy feeling. Walking, talking, eating etc. all feel different, almost like a high. Your thought processes are different, but not necessarily "tired". It was really interesting to us.
Any other experiences?

Haha, I haven't had much sleep today, and I'm debating if I should go to sleep now(4 AM), becaue I have a doctor's appointment later(10 AM). I could always pop an adderoll RX in the morning, but I really, really don't like using that drug to keep me awake. I'd prefer it to be used for school work and what not... oh well maybe I will... :P
My only problem is fighting the sleep afte the adderoll wears off. I crash hard after it wears off, and it's usually at odd hours of the day. I also don't like messing with that drug because of the comedown. Also the way it makes me not want to eat is unsettling to say the least.
I like your description though. I'll eventually get around to it when I start college this year, I'm sure of that.

I generally have problems with insomnia so often end up unable to sleep (tired or not) and sometimes just don't sleep for a couple days (though it's very rare I stay up much over 24 hours, although I've come pretty close to 72 hours before). And yes, you do start to 'trip' usually after about 24 hours. Another thing you might notice are colour dots spotting your vision, bit of a breathing effect, etc. Baically I've found it just amplifies those little visiaul distortions that are there normally...
I don't recommend it though, your brain does need sleep and staying up that long isn't healthy. Although between you and me, stay up for a day or so, drink 4 energy drinks (check the ingredients as brands differ, I stick to Rockstar for the most effective, containing overall more of the active stimulants than other brands) and you'll still have the visual distortions, thought distortion, bit of a numb body buzz and you'll be feeling a little giggly as well (not so much giggly as just finding more humor in things).
In my personal experience it's a pretty cracked out feeling and you kinda just wanna fall asleep and end it, but you can still have fun with it if you don't mind the feeling... The things you learn from sleep problems and exams...

although dangerous, I found the 'sleep deprivation trip' unpleasant.
After 3 days on ecstacy, with no sleep or rest... i began hearing horrible 'snapping' noises which were really loud sounding like they were coming from behind me. Eventually, when I tried to sleep, the snapping noice would keep waking me up, followed by an electric shock feeling that jolted my body. i went apeshit at my cousin and said "STOP CLAPPING UR FUCKING HANDS"
poor bastard
sleep deprivation = teh gh3yz

I also hate it when it gets to that "THIS IS JUST FUCKING REDICULOUS" stage when ur with friends doing absolutely retarded shit (ie - throwing full bottles of beer at each other, smashing shit for no reason and dancing like complete idiots and saying dumb shit... a la "Total Eclipse of the heart" = "total collapse of the vein... JAB ME UP, JUNKY BOY!") and u feel like uve been on speed or something.

Ummmm... Well, that's never happened to me in all 14 years of sleep problems... Other than looking like sheer hell, fidgeting, and laughing more (not laughing uncontrollably or anything though) I seem pretty much normal...
Actually now that I think about it yeah... People generally complain about sleep loss a lot more than I do, and they tend to act like complete idiots after a day or so...

we just start acting like true freaks.
Like when some guy comes in smashed as hell when ur trying to pass out on someones couch and he refuses to let you sleep by poking you for hours with a broom handle saying "GET UP! GET UP! GET UP AND DRINK SOME BEER WITH ME!"

Mmmmm... This brings back memories of telling people at overnight parties to smoke more of their bud in hopes that they'd fall asleep before turning into what you just described...
Nothing gets more annoying than someone who can't handle being tired... Except maybe someone who can't handle sugar...

Not saying it's a joke, I'm just saying a lot of people deal with it badly. I'm sure you've noticed that whenever someone's been awake for awhile they always need to point out how tired they feel to everyone and try to use it as an excuse to not take responsibility for their actions

my statistics teacher said that sleep deprivation was like acid.

I remember watching a documentary that was about that radio host who sleep deprivated. His wife told that he was never the same after the experiment. I also remember that the radio host had actually believed that there was the devil himself standing in the same radio room. The documentary was about people who couldn't sleep. The worst case I believe didn't sleep for months or maybe years, that was eventually fatal.
