You mean, is it possible to grow an organic computer?  I would say yes.  There was some work done by Thomas DeMarse, where he and some associates grew a culture of rat cortical neurons (if I recall correctly).  They used that neuron culture to form a natural neural network (as opposed to an artificial neural network), and then trained it to control a simulated body on a computer.  I am sure one could culture the neurons of different types of animals, and then use the grown neural networks to perform certain computations.  All it would take would be some training, but whether or not this can be done unsupervised is left up to science.

Check it out: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0262024...5Fencoding=UTF8

I attached a journal article by DeMarse that explains some of his research.  With a little of your own, you could probably find more of his stuff.  I hope to, one day soon, experiment with natural neural networks.  Good luck.
