Delaying the harvest by more light

Ok, here's the situation. My friend has a casing on the verge of the veils tearing. He's fixing to leave right now and has noone to come pick them. He's returning in the morning but they will already be really big. So, if he turns the light on right now and leaves it on till he returns (about 12 hours) will this slow the growth without causing any damage?? Thanks!!!!

Light only tells shrooms which way is up....it does`nt have anything to do with when they cap out.. They will mature with light on 24/7 or as little as an hour a day
