I believe that with a trip theres no "trip music".
I'd pick music that really makes you think and feel when sober...u will find a whole nother realm to it when you're on shrooms.

This dude is my style, those recommendations are great^^^^^^although agharta is pretty insane even when compared to bitches brew.
Get some grant green even. Specifically "his majesty king funk".
Hes the creator of acid jazz. You will love it.
If I was in your position id actually go and buy the album. No lyrics, just geometric peaks and valleys. Trippiest music ever if you ask me.
I think its kind of cool someone has a similare taste in music. SO strange_mind, get yourself some grant green if you dont already have some of his stuff.
When ever I see someone recommend mahavishnu orch. I tend to say stuff like this.
Herbie hancock is key. Secrets*, man-child**, and head-hunters*** are all herbies trippiest albums..............

^^cool i'll check out grant green then, i've been listening to jazz-rock fusion a lot lately..intense music. if you like mahavishnu orchestra you should cheak out Shakti, it's another john mclaughlin project with indian influences...anyway yeah herbie hancock is the shit especially head hunters, except i'm not a huge fan of funk..i'll probably get more into later though peace

Shakti is one of my personal favorites. Pretty darn complex....
You should look up some of the few videos they have of them on youtube.com.

I have about a million recommendations, so heres a few I gave at some other message board. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Ill start with just a small few. I really just want to hear your recommendations.
- Herbie hancock: albums you need to get, man child, head hunters, and secrets. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000002...ie=UTF8&s=music - almost anything by george benson. album to look for and possibly one of the greatest guitar albums of all time: Body talk.................if you can find it. (Its jazz funk) ---> heres a body talk sample link---> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000063...ie=UTF8&s=music
- Medeski martin and wood, but im sure many of you already know that they are one of the most inovative jazz groups ever.
- Allan holdsworth, albums to get: all of them. Why allan holdsworth. Its because his skill by far surpasses any guitarest EVER. He is the favorite guitarest of the best guitarests. E Van halen called him the greatest guitarest ever. Zappa called him the most interesting guitarest ever. Here is a preview ----> http://www.therealallanholdsworth.com/ Dont skip the intro, then when its over push skip intro and get another short taste. ---> or thry these samples ---> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000C3...ie=UTF8&s=music
Lastly, Grant green......Creator of acid jazz and also one of the most inovative jazz guitarests of all time.
People have often asked me what album I would listen to if I was tripping really hard. His album, "his majesty king funk is always the first thing that pops into my head. That is definately my favorite album ever. It often comes as a dual album with Donald Byrd on the second half. That would be the one album everyone here should pick up. I shit you not. It may become one of your favorites too. My favorite song ever, though its hard to say, Willow weep for me is probably it.
Here is a sample of that --> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000001...ie=UTF8&s=music
A good set of links too even though you dont get to hear any of the long jams.......
I just get off on introducing people to new music that could blow their minds.
