It's about that time...

Hey, just wandering if anybody can give me helpful tips for FC. Im using a conatiner (blue, not transluent) and putting 2" of perilite on the bottom. My concerns are how long should i kept the lid on per day, maybe for about 12 hrs? Because Im guessing it needs around 12 hrs of indirect light per day, so with the lid on, thats the other 12 hrs not getting any light. And plus when I expose it to light for 12 hrs a day thats also letting it get FAE. I'm going to spray the walls with water a least a couple of times a day, and certainly fan it for about 30 seconds (3-4 times a day). Anything wrong with this idea? Helpful advice would be appreciated. Maybe something you did differently that worked or maybe concerns... *Keep on shrooming in the free world*

cut a hole in your lid and tape saran wrap over the hole. that way you wont have to take the lid off at all, just cover it with a blanket or something and take the blanket off when you're ready to give them light.
also, when i was doing cakes. i just drilled a few holes in my terrarium and stuffed them with polyfill, never fanned them at all and they grew great. just mist once or twice a day.

Cool, thanx for the tips but what about humidity. How do I keep a good steady temp in the FC (Should be around 80 right).

the perlite will take care of the humidity, even with the polyfill stuffed holes. As for your temperature question, 75-80 degrees will be fine, the temp can fluctuate quite a bit without hurting anything, just try to keep it in that range.
i keep my house pretty chilly, like 60 degrees...temp. has never been a problem with me

Yeah, I keep my house around 60-70F. Thanx for the info...I just put a couple of holes on the side of my FC and stuffed them with polyfil.
