Tung oil
    #5932075 - 08/04/06 04:39 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

Can i heat up tung oil and beeswax and make a paste?  I got a car buffer and a bunch of scratches in the polly coating on my wood floor.  Im not going to sand the whole room down and reaply a new coat.  But i dont mind doing a buffing...

wont work well, the wax/tung oil doesnt hold up well, use polyurethane and a
thinner, if the scratched/dents are deep, sand the area a little, apply a few
drops of water to the spots, place a damp cloth over it and then a steam iron
check it to be sure you dont burn the floor

poly is harder than the wax, you could try an epoxy but you'd have to strip the floor

Is it really worth the effort?

Somethings in life are wurth the extra effort. The warm glow of a natural plank wood floor that was cut well over 100 years ago is definetly wurth the effort.
