coying C:\ partition to a new hdd?
    #5931799 - 08/04/06 03:18 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

Ok, I just installed a new hdd and I want to copy my c: drive (XPpro) to the new disk, then format the previous c: partition and use it for a linux partition. I tried using partition magic's disk copier, but windows crashes every time I try to boot into the new partition.

Is this feasable or do I have to intall windows on the new drive then copy all my programs over? Any help will be appreciated.

acronis true image has a clone feature, I have never used this feature, but everything else I have done with it has been perfect.

I may have to try that. Blink, i'm not all that confident with my linux skills yet, I've only taken an intro class last semester. Isnt knoppix a live cd, and what exactly will that command do?
