research chemical policy: hypocritic and elitist
    #593080 - 03/29/02 07:34 PM (14 years, 8 months ago)

The research chemical policy seems horribly hypocritical and selfish. The advocates of this policy say that they want to these chemicals to remain legal so that they remain available to the public, yet at the same time it is forbidden to mention anywhere where it might be possible to obtain these chemicals by legal means.

The effect is that the "elite", who are in the know get their drugs while for the rest of the shroomery these chemicals may as well be illegal.

I would like to experiment with research chemicals, but because of the shroomery policy, it is very difficuly to discover which sources are reliable and legitimate. It's not as if people couldn't just do a google search for the chemical of their choice and find several suppliers in a matter of 15 minutes or so. We ought to have knowledge of suppliers are the best.

Do what the rest of us did - search for it on the internet yourself. Yes, a search on google will find them. But there are fewer suppliers as things got a little hot. One of the reasons? People plastering urls to research chemical suppliers on boards such as this.

Another tip is to read the posts, listen to what people are saying, find someone who is talking about the particular chemical you are looking for, ask nicely and maybe that person will give you the site.

Hypocritic(al) and elitist? No. Protective. Yes.

This is a privately maintained board, the person that maintains the servers makes the rules. If you don't like the rules then don't read or post here. Maybe you can create your own board where anyone can post that kind of information. If you go the second route, the posts will thin out quickly as more suppliers will close up shop.

If you PM certain people they will tell you.

As well it should be. If you aren't intelligent enough to figure out how to get them (its NOT that hard) then you've got no business having them. The last thing we need is more unprepared idiots killing themselves or getting caught by the cops.

If you have a problem with this policy at the Shroomery, nobody is forcing you to hang out here.

1) It isn't that hard to PM someone.
2) Thanks to a bunch of retarded candy ravers and various other idjets ODing on phens, it is no longer easy to get 2C-x compounds in the US for reasonable prices. If a source popped up I wouldn't want it posted ANYWHERE in public.

Yeah... I'm really amazed that even with suppliers being raided or closing down, the media doing stories about 2C-T-7, AMT and 5-MeO-DIPT, and people being busted for possession or distribution of research chemicals, etc... people are still not able to grasp simple concepts like why its not a good idea to post suppliers in public. These are not legal drugs, even if they aren't specifically scheduled. If you're going to post info about 2C-T-7 suppliers on public drug forums you might as well be posting your pot dealer's phone number on here. Is it "hypocritic and elitist" to not post your pot dealers number on here? I mean hey, by not posting that, some people here can't buy pot from him! That's creating an elite group that can get it! Seriously, think about it.

Life isn't fair. Some people won't be able to get research chemicals even though they want to. Many of those people probably would be responsible users, and it sucks that they can't get the stuff... but the fact is that there's a drug war (or rather, a war on drug users) going on. The alternative to having an elite group of people who found the stuff is for nobody to be able to get them.

If you don't like the situation, instead of going around calling people ridiculous names, why don't you get politically active and try to help get the laws changed so that the research chemical scene doesn't have to operate underground. Do you donate to any groups like MAPS or NORML? Do you ever engage in any activism like handing out informational fliers or attending rallies? Do you vote in every election? If not, you really are in no position to complain. Instead of attacking the people on your side for taking the sensible precautions required in an underground scene, why don't you put your energy into trying to get the situation changed?

There is nothing elitist about it. The main issue is liability, with several peripheral issues as well including maintaining the few suppliers that are left.

PM most people who know where any of these suppliers are, and they'll up and tell you. I used to do so just to keep the information off this forum, unfortunately the reputable ones I knew of have all been shut down or closed down of their own volition..

Discussion about policy of any sort goes in the Suggestion Forum, not this one. I'm moving this thread.

Murple runs his research chem company. That is the reason he advocates this censourship. Otherwise, considering the rules of the free market, he would need to drop the prices.

In this way, he is fine and other people blow his story.

Nevertheless, this policy is set by the owners of this site. It is their right to do it that way.

My commendations Crobih, I know you and I don't even come close to agreeing about this but you most definately get mad respect from me for adopting this attitude instead of shouting "Nazi Nazi!" like some are inclined to.

Are you a complete fuckin idiot or did you just not read the JLF thread? This site is not about illegal drugs or the making of them. It's about learning the microscopic research of mushroom spores.
