Got a 100lb heavy bag a few days ago from the local sporting good store. Nice quality, everlast, got some good gloves too, they have padding, wrist wraps and let me work open handed, so I'm happy with them. I purchased Bas Rutten's MMA workout and I've been doing that in addition to my lifting and running. Nothing beats a few 3 minute rounds on the heavy bag, great way to wake up. I finish off every day with a 2 minute round with no gloves on, just to toughen up my knucks.

i box at night, its amazing how fast you get worn out on those bags eh? make sure to keep moving after lifting, you wanna keep loose to throw those punches faster, some just lift, and that gets em all stiff.

Yea man, that shit tears me down! I did 3, 3 minute rounds with a one minute rest between. I was going 100% the whole time. The gloves I were wearing were padded everclear training gloves, but open fingered and less than 2 lbs rather than the 10-12 lb heavy bag gloves the pro's use.
I'm working out in the gymfor weights and the bag at home. What I'm going to do, on my push days, I'll work heavy weights at the gym, preceded by a short jog and followed up with a one hour high intensity cardio event. Then, later that evening, I'll do bag work and do pushups on my "rests" between sets. Maybe a 15 pushup x 30 seconds bag routine 6 time... I bet that'll paralyze my arms. I'll try it out on Monday, my next "push" day, and report back.
Do you know much about bag work or anything like that? I've taken marital arts before but I've never really done much on a heavy bag. I'm going off of some stuff that I got from www.rossboxing.com and www.rosstraining.com i'm not sure if it's the absolute best, but it makes me sore!

Sounds like an awsome workout (makes me wanna box again...), but why no target pad training?
