horticultural perlite not working

my friend has fully colonized jars and set up a terrarium with a fish tank heater and pearlit however it seems the perlite is not working. the humidity inside reads only 75. he is wondering if there are different types of perlite becasue he cant understand what has gone wrong. If anyone out there has used the perlite methond of humidification successfuly and has any tips for my buddy ithey would be grealt appreciated. and if anyone is willing to go over the prosses they use to make perlite successful, would also be appreciated...thanks in advance...

yes he used water in the perlite....the hydrogononmeter or whatever may be the problem...he told me there was a bit of condensation, but he doesnt know what is normal and what is abnormal...thanks for the advice and i wwill pass it along

condensation is not a good sign of perlite humidification

if you feel it is lacking get a spray bottle and spray it a few times

w/o the cake in there!

wet drops on a mushrooms may make it abhort!
