I have a bunch of poo bags that I made following this tek http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5278987/page/0/fpart/1/vc/1/nt/6 I have had then fully colonized and put the light on them to initiate pinning like it says and still no pins,I was wondering if there is something else I can do to start them off, maybe put them in the fridge overnight or something.Does anyone think this is a good idea, and if it isn't a good idea does anyone have another idea that may work better, thank you

in that tek, he leaves them be.
keep the temps good, maybe a small fan going in the area, and you should be fine.
he doesn't even open the bags at all until harvest.
that's a set it and forget it type tek.
I would just wait longer.

I do something similar, but it works MUCH better if you open the bag daily after full colonization to provide air exchange. Some strains simply tolerate a high CO2 level better than others. RR

It has been 5 days since I turned the light on them,And would I be alright withe just cutting a slash across the top of them to let air in instead of opening them. They are pretty well taped up at the top.Would they be at risk for contams this way? There is a lot of mean green in my house and I know fully colonized substrate is pretty resistant but still,is it a good idea.O and if it matters at all the strain is Texas because I knew that is a good strain to grow this way,I made a few treasure coast this way with the leftover spawn I had from my double tub and they never even colonized

if you wanna cut a slash i'd say tape over it with some micropore tape. or poke a few holes and cover with micropore... so you have a few filtered 'breathers'... a totally exposed opening is mostly a bad thing not because of contams, but because it will let too much humidity out.

I will cut a few holes in them tonight,So does that mean that sticking them in the fridge over night to trigger them to pin is a bad Idea??
