Aspergillus niger?

Hello Been lurking around for a while and thanks to the wealth of information on here decided to start my first grow a couple weeks ago. I'm using a treasure coast syringe and some brf jars I ordered online. Since this is my first grow I thought I would just get some premade jars in hopes of reducing the risks of contams. I must have messed up somewhere though since 5 out of the 6 jars I inoculated have been contaminated so far. Oh well I'll do better next time.
Here are some pics of the contams. I was wondering if this could be Aspergillus niger and if it is, is it bad that I have these kinda mold spores in my house?

It's not Aspergillus. It looks more like black pin mold, which is very common. The spores are everywhere. Molds are easily killed by substrate sterilization, so when encountered, they were usually introduced at inoculation. Read up on everything you can find on sterile technique during inoculations. Use a glovebox and be sure to flame sterilize your needle. Wear gloves. RR

Yeah thats pin mold. If it had more room to grow it has hair's with little black spore pods on the end.

Cool, thanks. I did flame sterilize the needle and the nail I used to punch holes in the lid with, but I inoculated in my bathroom because I figured it would be a clean place. I just wish I would have looked under the sink because I just found out my drain has been leakin and there's actually some kinda mold growing on some of the soap packages under there although it doesn't look the same as what was in the jars. I was already planning on trying a glovebox next time so we'll see how that goes. I might start some new jars tomorrow. At least I still have one good jar left (hopefully) and it looks to be almost fully colonized.

Dude, I suspect your jars. Make your own. eBay has cheap pressure cookers. So does Target.com - I got a huge 24qt one with the little pressure guage and everything for $80, which is one hell of a deal in my book. But hell, if you're only doing half-pints, get a little one, they're cheaper than dirt.
Another bump. Sorry guys.

Not true. Aspergillus is a genus, not a species. Aspergillus flavus looks like your classic dark green bread mold. Aspergillus nidulans is greenish yellow brown. Aspergillus Niger is a dark, almost red/black color. Aspergillus fumigatu is a dark green. etc...
