hey, ready to pin soon(hopefully), got a normal bulb, edison's old school designe, 25 watts, outside coated in blue paint, enitting a weak soft blue light, the paint is thick so the bulb is not very bright, not full spectrum for sure, the bulb will rest about a foot and some above the case, shining through double layered transparent plastic(in a seperate container then the fc, there will be a cut out to let the light come through, seperated witht eh plasitc form the fc, will it work?, considering fanning and misting will be taken care of with the love and devotion only a mother can provide, thank you all for reading this, any advice will be sweet!

Get a new bulb, or scrape the paint off that one. They want a full spectrum, or at least a light in the higher end of the spectrum, such as cool white fluorescent. They won't do nearly as well with a blue mood light. Halogen is ok, but they emit a lot of heat. In my experience, flourescents are the best due to low heat output. Being near a window is even better, as long as they're not in direct sunlight. RR

I reccomend you go to home depot, and grab a cheap 5 dollar compace flourescent. It doesn't have to be powerful... I normally use a mini 7 watt one for small grows and it works wonderfully.

Yea. I got them from an autoparts website, they are pretty big, 10mm.....I forget what Mw or Nm rating but they are pretty bright and pretty blue.....Im Currently running 20 of them off of a 20w DC power converter.
I only used them after seeing somewhere, I think stamets, that the prefered lighting is in the blue spectum, and the Nm rating of the LED's matched the Nm rating I saw for cubes.
Im pretty sure it doesnt make a differnce between mine and someones full spectrum CFL, but I've had no problems, and I put them right in the grow boxes without worrying about heat issues, they make almost none.
