Prophecy of the Book of Revelations
    #5929453 - 08/03/06 06:53 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

But support for Israel, which extends to billions of dollars in military aid, has deeper roots within American politics, where there is a long-established and influential Jewish lobby ...

The bipartisan pro-Israel lobby has, in recent years, been further strengthened by the fervour of millions of right-wing evangelical Christians, at least some of whom believe that the Middle East conflict is the fulfillment of the Bible’s prophecy of Armageddon.

Last month the Reverend John Hagee, a Pentecostal television evangelist from Texas, convened a meeting in Washington of 3,500 members of Christians Unified for Israel. The organisation is dedicated to building support for Israel, even in states where there are few Jewish voters.

Mr Hagee called the Israeli attacks on Lebanon a “miracle of God” and suggested that a ceasefire would violate “God’s foreign policy statement” towards Jews. The evangelist is a leading figure in the so-called Christian-Zionist movement, rooted in a literal interpretation of the Book of Revelations, which predicts a final battle between good and evil in Israel, where two billion people will die before Christ’s return ushers in a 1,000-year period of grace.

“The end of the world as we know it is rapidly approaching . . . Rejoice and be exceeding glad — the best is yet to be,” Mr Hagee has written in a book that has sold 700,000 copies.

President Bush sent a message to the gathering praising Mr Hagee and his supporters for “spreading the hope of God’s love and the universal gift of freedom”. He is said to have added: “God bless and stand by the people of Israel and God bless the United States.”

- - - - - - - - - - - -

Unfortunately, the good Reverend's philosophy of belief is based upon a "literal interpretation of the Book of Revelations," which, in fact, was written by human beings whom, in doing so, perverted and raped the teachings of Jesus Christ (which, you know, promoted Love and Brother/Sisterhood and Peace and that most fundamental pillar of the Christian Faith, a concept called: COMPASSION. Anybody remember that part?)

But here we have a Good Christian, a Reverend no less, telling Us Strayed Sheep of the Flock that it would be against "God's foreign policy statement" to cease in the killing of innocent children whose only crime against their God was to be born in the Middle East.

Firstly, how this guy actually obtained a copy of "God's foreign policy statement" is anybody's guess - as Old Bob says, through his statement, The Good Reverend is declaring that He has Simultaneously Apprehended the Universe and, hence, the mind of God (if such a thing exists, of course), when, in fact, the Universe and/or the Mind of God, is Non-Simultaneously Apprehended.

So thereby that rationale, this leads us to the conclusion that Reverend Hagee could be either totally ignorant of his stupidity or, and this is the one I'm leaning towards, The Good Reverend is actually in the Employ of his Own Agenda with the singular purpose of ridding the world of anything he Fears or perceives as a Threat to or Challenges his narrow and limited World View to further enhance the Comfort and Status of the few elect, who, by Divine Right, strive to Control, to Control, AND to Control a World they cannot possibly Understand.

Secondly, the fact that this guy is hoping two billion people will die just makes my blood turn cold, to which President Bush, predictably, responded by praising The Good Reverend with: “spreading the hope of God’s love and the universal gift of freedom.”

2 BILLION PEOPLE. DEAD.

TWO ... BILLION ... PEOPLE.

Their God is surely Great and HIS capacity for Love is, indeed, limitless.

Islam is no better. Two sides of the same coin.

Peace, h.

I assume you mean President Bush?  :smirk:

Sorry, Chief, I forgot to record the link to the news article. My apologies.

I guess my intent behind this post was to illustrate my amazement at their mentality.

Never surprised; always amazed.

Why do you need a link to believe the obvious? This stuff is common knowledge. Though I am not sure of the Bush quote.

Quote:

At the center of it all is Pastor John Hagee, a popular televangelist who leads the 18,000-member Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas. While Hagee has long prophesized about the end times, he ratcheted up his rhetoric this year with the publication of his book, "Jerusalem Countdown," in which he argues that a confrontation with Iran is a necessary precondition for Armageddon and the Second Coming of Christ. In the best-selling book, Hagee insists that the United States must join Israel in a preemptive military strike against Iran to fulfill God's plan for both Israel and the West. Shortly after the book's publication, he launched Christians United for Israel (CUFI), which, as the Christian version of the powerful American Israel Public Affairs Committee, he said would cause "a political earthquake".

True, but there is a difference between what seems to be obvious, and common knowledge. I meant the latter. A link would be great though.

Yeah? So what? There are lots of well established and influential lobbies. Lots and lots of them. I heard whispered in the halls that, no shit, Muslims have one too. Really, no shit.

Yeah, and SOME of them believe in Santa Claus. Although I might point out that the President of IRAN seems to share this belief in the "End Times."

Like almost all of them. Jews make up 2.2% of the population of the whole country and the only state with a serious Jewish presence is NY and that's still less than 10%

A complete loon. And somehow I doubt that he called "the Israeli attacks on Lebanon a “miracle of God”, since your mysterious source didn't include the whole sentence in his quotations. There is a mighty stench of bullshit here and it isn't confined to what the retard thinks. A real cut and paste pastiche of chopped up quotes. And Hagee is the retard I refer too.

None of which indicates in the least bit that Bush supports the whackier bits of the loons screed. Really rather disgusting bit of BDS on your part.[quote[

Well there you have hit upon a truth. Hagee and the Islamic whackjobs are equal assholes. Bush and Jews are not even the least bit tarred by association with this idiot and if you think that that, whatever, shows that they are you are crazy. The man is a fucking idiot. Big deal. There are lots of them. Some post here.

is this man not well aware of the mark of the beast then? I am not sure how he can support Israel and also support America, assuming we go for national IDs and chips in the near future.

Zechariah 11:4
Thus saith the Lord my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter

I wouldn't blame a Christian or a Jew for believing in slaughter if that's what the Good-Book says.

Perhaps the teachings of Jesus were intentionaly missinterpreted.
