why do you love your country...why do you hate it?
let's get past this way of thinking.
and to those that think America is the best place on earth to live, you're so wrong.
Australia (while it has many faults) is way better, and there's way better places than Australia. get out a little bit.
i understand the original poster's thinking, but just stating this doesn't really do much (unless you were just venting)..
why not educate yourself (if you already haven't) on WHY the economy is so big; WHY and HOW America came into power; and HOW are they connected to everything else. What influences do they have on countries, say for instance in Africa.
look at the global system as well. look at the IMF and World Bank, and check out its roots. WHO started them, and what kind of people were they? What have they done since that has economically impacted the world at large?
There's more to things than just America, and there's more countries fucking shit up than America. I would venture out to say that business and religion has just as much influence on politics as governments.
if you're interested, I can let you know of some journals (peer reviewed) and other authors/writers who are very balanced and informative.
if you educate yourself thoroughly, then you can go about changing it. And as you do educate yourself, you WILL see that you CAN change it. don't let people tell you otherwise, the defeatist attitude is what those in power want most (IE a powerless attitude).
-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Your mistake is highlighted in bold.

Waiting for the revolution is lazy...according to your logic you should have succeeded by now. Seriously, LOL at the stupid and lazy being the ones that succeed

Where will you live that gives you more freedom than America? Hate American finance? Well, move on over to Socialist Europe. If you bitch about 30% taxes now, prepare to pop a vessel over there.

I've travelled a lot. Not many countries where you can buy a huge chunk of land, pay (relatively) low tax on it, live there with your guns, growing dope and playing with four wheelers all day. I can only think of one country like that

There's no rain forests in the USA.

You are overlooking the Middle East!
More sand dunes for you, more, bigger guns, and tanks instead of four wheelers.
 Peace.

Yea, and shouting "Die you Camel Fucker" and popping some 55 grains into some Arabs in MOST jobs would result in termination and charges of a hate crime. In Afghaniraq, I get paid to do it. Allright!

There are plenty of other countries out there, that isnt even a fraction... And if youre adventurous enough, you can live quite a few places, we Amercians have been brainwashed to thinkg this country is the best place ever to live, and I think personally that is false.

As I understand it, Canadians don't pay that much more in taxes than Americans do. They just spend more on social services and less on military. Oh, and plenty of Canadians own firearms.

Wrong.

Thats their own fault. Theft is theft.

Yea, and if one of them uses a pistol for home defense, they get charged with a crime. Sounds like a lovely nation. I say we take over Canada, much more oil than in the mid-East and a much easier battle.

Can you provide the Canadian and US tax rates so you can show us that they pay more than us?

*shrug* Maybe I'm wrong. However, if they have the same taxes, but a pathetic military and all sorts of bullshit social programs, then it's what I would consider theft, and charity at the barrel of a gun.

As opposed to paying my taxes to support a huge military that I don't believe should be spanning the globe? That sounds like theft as well.

While you may disagree with how MUCH is spent, noone would question that national security is a worthwhile expendature.
