i've had a couple caps that just didn't sporulate then some drop all over everything

For me, that seems to be the way it goes. some won't drop, others drop like crazy.

Same here. Two caps that were right next to each other, one gave a very nice print, one didn't.

This can be the reason. If the moisture in the printing chamber is too high, they sometimes don?t drop spores.

afoaf had HUGE problems with printing but everything else went ok... now he has it down to a art... use a pyrex dish... cut up your pieces of folded foil and bake it with foil covering the dish USE FOIL not syran wrap or something else the foil allows for air exchange and makes the humidity right.... watch the caps, dont just cut them right after the veil breaks, wait until right before they get flay.... and you see some light spores on the stems... some say way until they are heavily dropping spores but if there almost flat and you can see faint spores on teh stem they should be ok... but if your spore chamber thing is too air tight the spores wont drop unless the ambient humidity in your area is very low... here its high so i have to use foil that doesnt seal up the dish air tight... if you follow this you should be able to get them!!!

i meant flat, also for best results wait about 36 hours... but this methoed will work in 24

you could lightly patch it with moist casing... but make srue you do it light... you'll have success if you follow my steps up there about printing... its all about letting the humidity escape from teh moisture in the caps and getting the cap at the right time, if you have any questions you can PM me... afoaf had the same slimy problem first time when he tried using syran wrap over the dish....

also... i recomend cold shocking even though a lot of other people dont... once you do it you will get much more even pinsets... after beginning cold shocking afoaf NEVER has overlay and usually has 1 to 3 aborts per whole flush!
