Good containers for casing!

I use the container that comes when you buy regular mushrooms in the super market, make sure you get the black ones, fits 2 cakes exactly plus crumbles!

My friend uses deep bread pans. They are about 5 inches deep, autoclavable, and do not transmit light. My friend can fit four of the pans in each terrarium.

When you want to step up in size & use bulk substrates.............

Mortor mix tubs that you can get at any building supply store are the boss. Black thick plastic, that is tough enough to stand on, easy to use & move. They come in a couple differing sizes, from about 27.5" X 19.5" X 6" (70 X 50 X 15 cm) to 36" X 24" X 8" (91.5 X 61 X 20 cm). They cost $5 or $6 bucks & last forever.

aluminum bread loaf pans are great-that way when your casing shrinks(most do) you can bend the pan to fit the casing-

Ganja is right.... EZ Foil, 2 for $1.99, they work great. After a couple of uses they wear through from corosion but at that price who cares.

I usually use 2 one pint cakes per pan. That gives me about 1 & 1/2 inches to 2 inches of substrate per pan. Well closer to 2 inches actually. I've been playing with the Glad Ware Deep Dish plastic containers as well. The only thing that sucks about them is you either have to wrap them in tape or paint them. I've been using duct tape. I can only fit three into a 10 gallon tank (4 into a 30 gal Rubbermaid) but they are slightly larger than the EZ Foil so it balances out.

Still can't decide which I like better.

Lobo, unless you're eating the tins I don't think you need to worry. Don't you drink cans of soda? Many deoderants use aluminum as the active ingredient.

Ganja, I'm sure a pint is enough but what the hell. I churn out jars like a wild man. Eight 30 gal tubs and four 10 gallon tanks going at a time. Too much free time I guess. I've found the thicker the substrate the larger the flushes. Since I use finch food and spawn, my costs are minimal.
