i thought that was a really cool song. I enjoyed it!
The interesting thing is that this "come to the sabbat" song by its lyrics and music actually shows genuine knowledge of the Occult, which is a lot more than those Norse Black Scrapmetal bands do. Too bad they had to drag satan into it, otherwise it might well be the anthem of those who study traditional European magic.

For those who liked the first song I posted: the plot thickens.
I found another version of the song which is different in a very peculiar way.
First of all the song is now sung in a witches coven's manner, with a "high priestess" taking the lead, taking the stick from the initiate.
What would not do for Wiccans? Well, umm, for one thing, the "Satan's There" bit in the chant. Check this: they now not actually sing that. If you listen closely in this version they drop a vowel right in the place where it matters, the one that separates the "satan" from the "there" resulting in something like "saytenzer" which drops the satanic connection, in part.
In part, because the other thing that would not do would be invoking ASTAROTH, which is the Grand Duke of Hell. Guess what: they don't really sing that too because they drop two vowels here, and what also happens and is more obvious: the addition of NEAR in "who's very name **** stills my heart" which is of spiritual importance because the former version could be inviting cardiac arrest onstage
So damn, its not impossible that a (wiccan) witches coven had a hand in this version, which makes me wonder asbout the female singer and just how deep a rabbithole the band wandered off into.
This is ofcourse geekery of a former Wiccan with too much free time on his hands, but it suddenly struck me and it all checks out.

When I first found that track, my room mate played it on his system (NICE one!) with his two 18" subs up as high as we dared. We opened his bedroom window, which faced the street, and put the song on.
Right near the end when it hits that BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM part, this guy who was watering his lawn across the street actually DROPPED THE HOSE and ducked for cover!!!
We were in tears, laughing so hard.

Well, Captain Beefheart is pretty bizarre. ....You could also listen to some Einsturzende Neubauten, particularly the album Halber Mensch. Ummm, Mr. Bungle, Merzbow, Throbbing Gristle and Coil are some other bands that can be quite weird. Skinny Puppy is quite unorthodox as well. Maybe I'll post some stuff later on. All of my upload bandwidth is being used up currently so I can't do it now.

It's not mind-boggling bizaree, but this track from The Who Sell Out seems to always wierd out people I know. I played this in an art class that was used to listening to The Who (the teacher happened to be fond of them) and I was the only one who appreciated it as music. Hell, even the teacher wasn't familiar with it.
"Armenia City in the Sky", by The Who. from "The Who Sell Out".
