I just moved to Colorado within the last month and took a hike today in Rocky Mountain National Forest. It was a 5 mile hike one way with a little over 1000ft. elevation gain during the hike. Well anyway during my hike I starting seeing mushrooms and decided to take some pics. I am new to the shroom world to say the least, I don't know what kind these are but I figured some of you would like to see. I wasn't able to post all of them as I ran out of upload room, so I will post the rest tomorrow. I apologize as some of the pics are blurry because I was really tired during the hike and almost every time I saw some mushrooms I would stop to take pics and a few times I thought I got a good pic, but when I brought them home to the computer they didn't come out so well. I took a couple pics of the same kinds, I guess just to get different views, I will post some different ones tomorrow.

I seen lots of elk and a few deer, but no other animals. I was hoping to see some big horn sheep, but no luck. We are going to be going there many more times to come, so I'm sure we will see many other animals. If anyone knows anything about these mushrooms, I'm definately interested.

5 and 6th pictures down are Amanita muscaria without a doubt. You can do a search on the effect they produce if your interested, some people like it some people don't. I liked it myself. The 7th one appears to be another type of amantia but no for sure on that one. Your'e missing the gills and spore print so the other species would be very hard to id just by a picture if not impossible. The Amanita muscaria was an easy Id and is in interesting experience if you decide to eat em. They need to be cooked at a certain temp before ingesting if you do a search on them you will find all of that out. They don't contain Psilocybin but do contain another mind altering chemical.

Nice finds and photos.
The first two photos are something in the Collybia group.
The next 2 photos are Leccinums. Although most Leccinums are edible, we know that there is an unidentified poisonous species here in Colorado (and probably elsewhere).
The next 2 show the ever popular Amanita muscaria var. flavivolvata, a common mushroom here.
The last 2 seem to show some of the many Tricholoma species we have. Unfortunately, the brown capped Tricholomas are a major bitch to ID.
Happy mushrooming!
