Corals

I thought it might be different to have a thread dedicated to corals. I've been stumbling upon loads of corals this summer, including ramaria, amethist, yellow, yellow spindle, worm-like, and gray corals.
If you have any nice coral mushroom pictures or stories, post them here.
Here's some Yellow Spindle, found just off the beaten path on one of my favorite hiking trails:

Ramaria was literally smothering a log that I came across in a deep shaded stream bottom. This wasn't too far from the Xerula radicata with a six inch wide cap! Anyway, onto the ramaria:

Here, the ramaria was accompied by a yet-to-be-identified orange mushroom, rather small, and trumpet-like. Found on a few occassions in this same hollow.

I think this is Crested Coral:

Some yellow coral I plucked from an area just a few feet away from the ramaria:

And of course, my all time favorite, the Amethyst Coral:

All in all, some real eye candy. Notice with the amethist coral the pieces of yellow coral laying in front of it. It was so dry the corals literally crumbled at my touch, which was a shame because I wanted a photo with both. Anyway, after taking the picture I saw a drab clump of gray coral hiding behind some grass!
Anybody else have some coral photos?

Shame about the tiny pics, they don't do the corals justice...

I think I have some photos of coral from India in my user gallery.

Wow, great pics as always. I also feel like I've seen a lot of corals this year. I'll post some pics if I find any more.

Corals are beautiful, but many are hard to ID, especially the yellow ones. Even with a microscope. Dr Castellano is supposed to be publishing a new monograph on them that will simplify things greatly.
Happy mushrooming!

Here is a larger version of the amethyst coral. Taken August 3rd, in the woodlot behind my home.
Thanks for the consideration! By the way...where does voting and discussion for this take place? I don't see a forum for it.

Awesome pics, I've found that amethyst coral too
Is that an Amanita muscaria at the top?
