Salvia problems
    #5923589 - 08/01/06 10:49 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

I have my salvia cuttings on a heating pad inside an upside down fishtank with a glass bottom for humidity. The leaves are starting to curl and get kinda purpalish and some of the smaller ones are completly brown. The plant the cuttings were from was climatized but for some reason I figured they would root better in an environment more like their natural one. What should I do.

Also has anyone seen the tips of m.j. leaves bend down at a 90 degree angle? It has tiny holes in it but I've never seen any insects on or under the leaves.

I've had a similar problem. Cuttings taken from an acclimatised plant were in soil under a heated propagator, mostly the leaves went brown & they didn't root quickly enough to save the plant. I've tried rooting them in water without any humidity retaining cover and this does seem to work a little better, though I'm finding it harder than expected to root these.

If you've got more than 1 I'd take 50% out of the humid atmosphere.
