The flow.
    #5923100 - 08/01/06 08:33 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

How do you navigate your thoughts? Where do you put your focus? Are you in a state of freeflowing motion without intervening that river? I can't seem to hold that flow, it's like I'm addicted to look back, to hold back.

What does the Flow mean to you?

I feel like giving up on growth. I can't change myself. I'm growing worse.

all you do is breathe dude. the thoughts don't matter.

i have a few i get hung up on and have to repeat and process amidst the ins and outs but i'm cleaning my brain one breath at a time.

it's so easy too there's no need to worry. you just breathe in and out.
you can say in in in in out out out out
or you can just do a silent in and count while exhaling 1 2 3 4 5

or if you are aware enough you can just breathe without using a mantra tied to the breath.

it will clean you.

Thank you. I just seem to lose focus so much now, compared to earlier. I'm sobering up for real, and hopefully my concentration will return to what it once was. I could so easily focus on breath a couple of years back, but now my brain starts cooking and I get lost in all these hangups.

put on some music that you love... give it the time it deserves... pay attention to every sound... the space between every sound.. the melody.. the rhythm... show up for it all.... don't hold back... there's nowhere else you'd rather be.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

I try focusing on emotion more than thoughts. By creating emotions inside yourself representing how you want to feel on a day to day basis you will eventually bring the things into your life that will make you feel that way all the time.

There's nothing wrong with looking behind you, just wave goodbye as you look, then turn around and look forward again.

There's this radio show I listen to called "Flowdreaming". It explains a technique similar to lucid dreaming, but it's for day dreaming. By controlling your day dreams and bringing emotions into it you can work with your higher self to bring into your life what you truely need for happiness. Here's a link to the radio show: http://www.hayhouseradio.com/show_details.php?show_id=4

STUDIES SHOW:

In a new study by Butch Society of America, womens study shows that not only fish oil but regular oral sex shows signs of positive brain tissue enhancement and key to maintaining proper omega levels, in the vagina, and in the " minds eye"
Until further research is done, researchers say women should at least get head once a day, more if the girl is a Scorpio. Up to 17 times a week, until loud screaming noises alert the neighbors of illicit sex activities,
with motives to enhance orgies with the locals and strengthen the omega oil bonding.
Fish oil should and can be used as vaginal lube. Please consolidate with your doctor before permitting oral clitoris stimulation on yourself or other women, and use fish oil within federal guidelines.

wtf.

this kind of stuff tears a hole in me to read. i need to work on that.

Samuel how do you create the emotional states you want... or do you just pretend you feel them and in time you might feel them?

Noticing that things are unsatisfactory is an important first step to taking a path that goes in a better direction.

the fish oil issue is supportive of both a good time and general health but this is not a reliable solution.

it keeps coming back to what is happenning and how can I make it better in another little way.

this picture of elmer fud halucinating bugs is magnificent

I think of a time when I had unbelievable happiness, or whatever emotion you want to bring up... love, happiness, confidence... whatever. Remember the emotion from a time in your life when you felt it very strongly, even if it was from when you were very little.

Once you've got the emotion built up off of the past, you can shift gears to the present then future, and imagine that emotion filling you up. By putting the emotional energy out into the world, it will draw the same to you... like attracts like. So, things will start coming to you to make you feel this way... Once it starts happening, it's so easy to keep it moving, because you're constantly in this happy mood.

It basically works the same way as negativity, like if you unintentionally think negative thoughts then only negative things will come to you... except you want positive things, so, you've got to get yourself to think positively.

I agree the picture says a lot. How do I stop hallucinating bugs? Is thinking evolutionary outdated?

As to creating emotional states to manifest them coming back... Is this really the way to go? I was thinking more along the lines of acceptance maybe, and not putting myself into the flow as that seems to imply...? Losing myself. It just seems so damned hard not to meddle the tune.

It works for me. The way I see it, is if you're struggeling with ANYTHING, then you're not "in the flow". When you ARE in the flow, everything seems to go very easily for you. I use my emotions to keep myseslf in the flow. I've been doing it for years, and I always seem to find things to go easily, even things that could have turned out pretty badly.

I've never really had to explain it, it's a lot deeper than what I've been able to put to words here. To be honest, the best explination I've been able to find for it would be that flowdreaming thing I mentioned earlier. Here's another like that explains it a little deeper. The website's a little hokey, but I swear the information she talks about really works, if you try. http://flowdreaming.com/html/learnmore.htm

hmm that is pretty good. so you just daydream but you charge the day dreams to be the best dreams you can, and try to make them send you positive energies?

i day dream perpetually but a lot of it can be bland or negative.

Yes give up on growth. Quit thinking and watch instead. Sit and watch your breath, watch the earth. Take a sabatical from your thoughts. :mushroom2:

After giving it some consideration from the calmer state of mind I found myself in today, I agree that the technique is good. Actually I've been doing something similar quite often, but I've been meditating on my heart center sometimes using the mantra "Breathe Love" silently in my mind while trying to expand the heart as wide as possible. It fills me with love.

I've watched my breath alot today, and my mind is in a better place than yesterday.

Thank you all for your heartfelt advices. Good people make me happy.

IMO
you were right the first time
acceptance.
there is enough happenning and sticking around (persisting, as with psychedelic or hppd) so you don't need to start anything like psychodrama which just makes more noise to reverberate.

but acceptance means what?
you could use the term convergence rather than acceptance.
with convergence you acknowledge that you are in motion or on a path (even if that path is just being yourself through time even if you are very still) so you are coming together with what is happenning.

I like the sound of coming together!

it is the middle way in another manner of speaking.
you only add or remove a little of what might be necessary to improve balance of the moment.

after being really fragmented this could seem like a big change, but really it is not much different, a lighter touch maybe, a brighter horizon maybe. still plenty of ups and downs but the general terrain seems to be rising.

 That is what I've been working with today. Had a good hike in the mountains and sat watching on a cliff.

Thank you. A lighter touch says so much for me right now. Like a more subtle breath.
