Mushroom-Drying Via Lamp

I have never had to dry mushrooms before, but I will have to soon. I've been looking-over my options on how to go about doing this.
Has anyone tried this method? How well did it work? http://www.shroomery.org/index.php/par/12192
I am considering this method not because I am "cheap" as the title suggests, but because it just seems pretty effective.
I am aware that psilocybin/psilocin degrades with heat (supposedly), but I don't think that the mushrooms will be getting hot enough for that to be a problem.
Thanks for the advice in advance

Man I hate being so negative all the time, but I see a hell of a lot of dumb ideas here.
Laying a shirt over your mushrooms? Just get a $5 box fan. You'll dry much faster and easier.

I just drew this picture to illustrate an idea I had. How well do you think this will work?

Everything will be contained within the plastic bag, and the holes in the bag for the air outtake tube and the electrical plug will be sealed.

step 1. lay mushrooms on flat surface step 2. blow fan across surface, or hell, if you're really broke, just let them sit there a few days. step 3. if you're in a high humidity area, move to desiccant chamber to get last bits of moisture out. a desiccant chamber is as simple as a tupperware container full of crystal kitty litter (which is silica gel). you can fill the container half full, set the mushrooms right on top. dont worry, its safe enough for your cats' ass, its not going to poison you. silica gel can be zapped for a few minutes in the microwave and its ready to use again, over and over, forever.
dont need to complicate everything... this is so simple

I believe I will fan-dry them, then. Thanks for the advice, guys! 5 shrooms each for the three of you.

The most effective way is the desiccant chamber. And if your not "cheap", here's somthng for you.
Where I live, i try looking around for anhydrous calcium sulfate (CaSO4). I had call every paint or general shop, the only place i found some was actually a guy who would sell me 1 KG(2,2 lbs) for 70 can$. After researching the net, i found drierite.com. MAN, i bought 2 lbs for under 20 can$. If you're not cheap, try to find 100% CaSO4.
I know it is publicity for drierite, but where i live, it was the only option i had (i had found some sillica gel, but it's no where near). And they ship fast too. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/1361265

like i said crystal type kitty litter = silica gel. they're whitish transparent rock looking things. usually comes in a see-thru jug, so you can see that you're getting the right stuff. crystal is a type of litter, not a brand name, several brands carry a crystal variety. you can find it in any pet store, grocery store, walmart/target type store, etc. its *very* common. it cost me 7 bucks for a big 2 gallon jug. this is more than i know what to do with. its reusable, indefinitely. a 2 minute nuke in the microwave and you're ready to go again.
damprid, drierite, etc works just fine. but seems to me to be a pain in the ass to deal with comparitively speaking, and as you just attested, much more expensive.

i use silica gel packets, a friend gave them to me, he worked at a machine shop and they used them to keep their tools from rusting... I'd say it ways maybe 20 lbs, and the packets are all different sizes, they look like the things you find in shoes, etc.
But that was a lucky break, if that hadn't come along, i would definately go get the kitty litter... Silica works really good after fanning.
