Ok, I ordered 4 bags and a syringe, and here is what I am doing for the heat. I bought 2 rubbermaid boxes with the same length and width, but one is 9" tall and the other is 13". I put a submersible aquarium heater in the taller box, and filled it up with water to where the shorter box would end when placed on top. I set the heater to 82 degrees. I have a $2 thermometer in the smaller box. I put the cover on top, and covered the whole thing with a blanket. I don't have the bags or spores yet, but the box is maintaining a steady 84 degrees. There is a bit of moisture, but not too much. Before I did this I used one box with a half gallon bottle with the heater inside, and that was producing too much humidity I think. I dunno about tapping the caps, I never even tried shrooms before. I always wanted to, but I didn't wanna eat something off of a turd, so that'ts why I decided to grow them

Thanks guys for the info... But, JeffersonDarcy.... what do you plan on doing for fruiting? Just leaving the top off your smaller box? How are you going to keep the temp's up when the cover is off?

When all the substrate turns white, remove it from any heat and stand them back in the box they came in, near a window for indirect light, like behind a couch. And start looking for a babysitter or a good place to camp out and trip

You mean to say that when all the subsrate is colonized and you start to fruit that higher temps(84-86) would not be more beneficial? Did not know that!!! I thought temps around 84-86 were best for all around... colonizing and fruiting. So I was wrong about that?

Yea, thats exactly what I'm going to do, that and put it by a window for light. From what I read about it, room temperature is perfect for fruiting. You need more humidity for fruiting but the bags are suppsed to be self contained in that respect.
