is it inadviseable to fruit from a rye grain cake?
if i were to case with peat/verm. could i use baking soda to neutralize, how much baking soda?
should i mix the peatverm with the colonized rye grain, and then put straight vermiculite on top. or should i put a bed of pure colonised rye, and then put a casing layer of peatverm on top?

i would case it. just put down some of your casing mix on the bottom, a layer of pure colonized substrate, and then a layer of casing about 1/4 as thick as your colonized substrate layer.
