No print...when I found them they were getting pretty dry in the sun...they look very convincing from above, and do have nice brown gills, but I'm just not sure...

They look like dried P. cubensis to me. They have the dark gills and the same coloration as cubensis, but unless your 100% sure please DONT eat them. Unless you have a print (that proves its active) or see blue bruising than its not active. In order for us to give you a true answer we will need more information. Basic description below (for P. Cubensis)
Cap: 5/8 - 3.5" White with brownish-yellow center, becoming entirely brown or yellow. Gills: Grey, becoming violet to black Stalk: 1 2/5 - 6" Bruising Blue Spore print: Purple-Brown

Do not eat those. Also, a full description is needed if you want someone to give you a positive ID.
Later.

Less your friend lives in the middle of a stinking cow field the chances of them being Cubes are slim to none!

Description: They were growing in a small fairy ring in the grass...I did think it was kinda strange for shrooms to just grow in the grass. The stems are more like thick grass than the typical stems i've seen. another thing is the smell...they smell nothing like any actives ive ever had. im thinking they probably arent....they just look exaaactly like shrooms...i guess the hydrogen peroxide test will be the final way of deciding.

Definitely not active. What part of the country do you live in? Lots of mushrooms can turn blue that are not active. Some poisonous mushrooms bruise blue. I've never heard of anyone using hydrogen peroxide to observe bluing, though it is a powerful oxidant so it should do the same thing as bruising the mushroom and exposing the chemicals to oxygen in the air. You say the peroxide will be the final test, but you haven't done any of the basic things that you should - spore print, description of the gills, description of the stem, is there a ring on the stem...
I don't know of any active mushrooms that grow in a fairy rings. Psilocybe cubensis definitely do not. Don't eat those mushrooms, lots of poisonous ones grow in fairy rings.
