Mush ID South Alabama Part 2

Hello everyone, I wanted to say thanks to everyone for helping me out yesterday with my find. I really appreciate it. Today I took a little walk through the field just to look around. I found a few more of what appears to be Psilocybe Cubensis again, this time I found a few that look like small bullets.

I intend on drying these out and putting them in with yesterdays find.
On Another note, today I also saw more than a few very interesting mushrooms, tons of red ones, green ones and some spotted ones. I thought I would share the pictures for the enthusiasts.

Good work on the cubensis. Those bullets you speak of are pins or immature mushrooms. Given them a couple of days and they would be decent sized mushrooms.
I believe that the red mushroom might be a Russula. The last picture looks to be a Boletus and I am not sure about the greenish one.
Good finds

You would be better off to let them grow to size in my opinion. They also tend to get more photogenic as they mature.

The greenish one looks to be a Russula too.

Thanks guys!!!
Both yesterday and today I found all kinds of cool looking mushrooms when I went out there. Here are some more pictures, I even included one of the “Guardian of the Field”, he is located right at the entrance.
I am sure I have seen around 15 different varieties just in the last 2 days.

I am looking out the window and it is starting to rain again. I have a big week ahead of me.

Best time to harvest cubes is right before the veil breaks. Only now this from cultivating them, I'm in michigan don't get the oppurtunity to hunt em.

Thanks, you guys are very educated.
Here is number 3 upside down.

Oh and Bos taurus is scattered all over the place.
As for the cubes, thanks for the information; one of the bullets I brought home came with a partial cake or whatever it is called and is currently growing or appears to be growing in my shed. I will check it in the morning and see how it is doing.

Those toothy veil remenants would make is a possible Panaeolus campanulatus or a mushroom in that same complex. Nice pic by the way.

Hail Eris 23 !!!
Basically nothing; it is sitting on a plastic lid that is filled with water – of course the mushroom is connected to a small piece of cake and a small piece of manure. I left it sitting in the laundry room last night which is not insulated; it is like a sauna in there.
Next time I go to the field I should just bring back a loaded cow patty or two and just put them in one of the barns. I am tired of making the walk to the field, it is a tiresome journey. I walk out my backdoor and walk through 2 cotton fields to reach the isolated cow pasture. The total trip is usually 2 hours, I always return home covered from head to toe in sweat. I really could use a 4 wheeler for these trips.

Looks good but you do have too much water.. You need to dunk pattys let them soak up the water then set them in a dish... As they start to dry out re dunk them.. If you keep it as wet as you do it will start to rot from the stem up

Nice finds.I am in north/central AL.I went to my field last night and got a small yield.I also went last weekend and found about the same amount.
It has been a horrible summer for mushrooms in alabama.I wouldnt know about south alabama.I have not even found one chanterelle this year.
The rain is just now starting to come.We are getting may/june rain in july. The firs part of summer was as dry as can be.
Good luck!

I must agree the draught at the beginning of summer was horrifying; it practically killed a huge fig tree in my backyard as well as several other plants. Now that we are receiving some rain things are much improved but things could certainly be better.

As YESSUP mentioned in the gulf coast thread, the heat is not allowing the mushrooms to grow in the field.Best check around the edges of the field within the tree line.Thats where I have had most of my luck the last 2 weeks.
No choice edibles so far this year.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Everything I have found is on the edge but I have a really cool “edge” on the back of my field because there is a huge section that is basically in the woods lots of trees and shade. In fact this might surprise people but all of the photos I posted at the top of this thread are from Monday at 3:00 in the afternoon. I am not going to pretend like 3 in the afternoon is a good time to go shrooming but due to the fact that there is a huge amount of shade in this field there is still a lot of mushrooms even at that time of the day.

Potent pins. pretty good condition. try steeing up a humidity and air exchange chamber for your next dung haul. yeah of course there are mushrooms that time of day orpheus. I'm often too damn lazy to make it out to my fields first thing in the morning. And as for the treeline, thats about all I hunt around. It offers shade for the shrooms and the hunter, takes some of the glare off of you, and allows you to better monitor your surroundings and who could potentially be monitoring you. I do alot of highstepping when tromping through those wierd bushy cowfield plants. For the amount of time I actually spend in the field, I can gather quite a bit. along the lines of a half ounce dry in about 5 minutes. The myc network is very strong there around the treeline. MAybe if I get up earlier next time I will venture out.
