At the unconfirmed suggestion of TrueKimbo2 I tried 9 mgs "Natrol" Melatonin sublingual during the afternoon before I took a break from pot. I must say that I believe this did work. I was quite stony, not blasted, for 15 minutes. If you read my other thread, I posted that I was not getting high at all so this is quite the improvement.
It was slightly nasty tasting but certainly not horrible and well worth it.
Anyone know the pharmacological reasons this might work? Or have experience with other potentiations / synergisms.
Well, this could work, since melatonin changes your brainpatterns a little. normally it us involved for sleep induction (to make your mind relax ect). It could be the same effect that you trip harder when you are very tired. (also with a high melatonin count)
i've been told smoking cannibis reduces the amount of melatonin in your brain which is why taking it beforehand helps reduce tolerance.
i don't know if its true.
also just taking melatonin won't make you tired.
edit: wierd, i just looked this up. apperntly marijuana doesn't reduce melatonin, it increases it "thousands" of times its normal daytime levels. i have no idea why why taking more would reduce weed tolerance, unless the brain because used to daytime melatonin spikes and makes countermeasures which also effect how high you get off of weed.

Melatonin is a chemical that is released in your brain when the sun goes down.. I'm not sure how exactly your body knows to start releasing it - but probably has something to do with the presence of the sun in the sky. Basically, from what I understand, is that melatonin "lubes" your brain up and prepares your brain for changing the beta waves into alpha waves... and then later to delta waves (sleep).
Essentially melatonin encourages sleep, though it is NOT a sedative. I'm not sure if it potentiates any sort of psychoactive..
I'm kind of unclear as to this thread... you said you took a break from smoking pot, right? Then how did the melatonin potentiate the pot if you didn't smoke it at the same time. .?
