Is gypsum widley available as a useable produce right of the bag, or is drywall scraps the only option. If so, then where?

Yes, garden section. Should be called gypsum or have it listed as the ingredient.

garden gypsum is widely available.
should be at every box store (home depot, lowes) should be at every tree nursery.
all garden supply stores should have it. it is a common product to use.
never used drywall.

Yea I found it at home depot too, also in giant bags. 25 lbs in the drywall section and 50 in the garden center.I just carried a piece of scrap drywall up to the counter and made up some bullshit about wanting to take it home and match it up to a wall or something like that nd they gave it to me for free.I took it home peeled the paper off of it to the best of my ability and threw a chunk of it in the coffee grinder....Good to go

The dude at Wal Mart said they didn't have it. So, I wouldn't bother looking for it there. Tho' some of the "super" wal marts may have gypsum. I don't know, I just started looking for it so I'll try HD &/or Lowes next. The Wal-Mart I shopped didn't carry Verm either -just perlite :/ -Which the guy there tried to tell was the same thing, Lol.
