Arjan's Haze x NL Haze#5 Outdoor

This plant is my friends attempt to finish a haze outdoors in a northern latitude. Right now the weather is perfect, and he's expecting preflowers from this and another smaller specimen of the same strain in a few weeks.
I'd post one from the side, but you can see my man's face, and I don't want to do that.

I wonder if you could have induced flowering by shading it a couple hours early under a black tarp. Then you would have had a jump on the flowering time. To allow it to actually finish up before the frosts.

Sorry, you've given him away anyway. I'd recognize that hat anywhere! JK, daylight's getting shorter and plants are getting fatter...I hope your friend likes good smoke.

Hopefully I'll get to visit him before its all gone
Its hard for him to get out to it, but I've talked about putting a big garbage can over it every day to induce flowering.
The plant grows pretty fast apparently, transplant after transplant it keeps getting root bound, its in a 5 gallon bucket right now, and maybe if he just lets it stay root bound in this, it could induce flowering?

I've thought about doing the trash can thing to induce flowering but I decided against it. It would be a lot of work to visit a plot that is hard to get to in the early morning to take off the can and 12 hours later to put it back on...but it could be done. You'd probably need to put some home made ghetto C02 generator (water, sugar and yeast in an open bottle would do it I think) because the leaves love C02, especially during the dark cycle.

the trash can may get too hot inside but i dont know. havent tried that. I do remember seeing a automatic greenhouse shading device that would do it for you but that would require electricity.

Remote electricity only requires a car battery.
Also, It shouldn't get hot if the trashcan is white or silver and over the plants at night. It would certainly get too hot in the daytime, but there isn't a reason it should get really hot at night with no sun shining on it.

wouldnt the point of the trash can to prevent the plant from recieving light? that would mean there is light from the sun outside thus the bucket would get hot. also the car battery would get drained pretty quickly. unless you go back to charge it every so often. also exposure to the elements wouldnt be to good for it.

Plants like CO2 during the light cycle. One thing nobody has mentioned is the humidity in the can is gonna be way high and mold may be a problem.

A car battery could be wired to a timer (which barely uses any power at all) and placed inside a covered bucket (to save it from the elements). A shade would be activated by the timer and power from the battery would only be used to draw the shade up and down. A 12v car battery would last all outdoor season.
I've rigged a reservoir irrigation system at a geurilla plot with a simple water timer connected to the reservoir and drip line, powered by a couple of AA batteries. They lasted all season without battery replacement. ANYTHING is possible.
Magash, I guess they do need C02 during light cycle to convert light into sugars, but how come growers rig the CO2 to emit just after the lights turn off?

Heh, If the answer was easy, he wouldn't need help.
Anyone else have anything to add? He thinks he may build a makeshift green house type structure with passive air exchange when the rains come.
