Just a thought.......I live in the mid west...it has been 97 degrees consistently for the past three days.....now the heat index is 104 degrees.....is there a possibility that spore syringes will be destroyed by the heat? (during shipment)

Yes, there is some concern with spores sitting in hot, metal mailboxes for too long and that can be a killer sometimes. Please try and retrieve your package from the mailbox ASAP or have it delivered to a PO BOX or mail hub where it can remain in a cool enviroment. www.spores101.com

When the heat index gets up near 100 we usually hold shipments for a day or two, and check the forecast. It isn't just the mailbox you have to worry about, it is also the cargo bay on the plane carrying the package. Temps on the airport tarmac get well over 100. We replaced an order last year from AZ due to the heat. It also seems to be more of a sustained period of heat that damages the spores, and not a short period of high heat. If the temps stay up there we try to ship for a Saturday delivery, if possible to keep the packages from sitting in a hot mail box all day.

you know what would be a great test would be to mail a digital thermometer that records Max/Min temp. just to see how hot it gets. I'm sure someone has done this for some reason.
