Does anyone have any book recommendations? I saw "A Scanner Darkly" yesterday and I am planning on ordering the book. I'd like to add a few more things to make the order worthwhile.

Shame on you if you only read books about drug use.

Another Philip K. Dick book, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep"...the movie Blade Runner was based on it. It is great. Also, Neuromancer by William Gibson is really good.

Barely... I would suggest "Haunted" by Chuck Palahniuk
... The title is quite misleading, I assure you.

What kind of books are you into? I mostly read non-fiction, most of which is either on political or spiritual subjects. I can give you some reccomendations if either of these topics interest you.

despisedicon, you are an idiot. Where in my post does it say I only want to read books about drug use?
To all others who posted suggestions, thank you, thats what I was looking for.
Silversoul, I haven't really read many books in either of those genres and would definitely be open to some recommendations.

Well, I recommend reading Natural Capitalism, by Paul Hawken and Amory Lovins. It's about how we can have both a prosperous economy and a sustainable environment without sacrificing either.
On the spiritual side, I recommend Zig Zag Zen. It's a compilation of writings about Buddhism, psychedelics, and the counterculture.

"Dune" by Frank Herbert
"The Great and Secret Show" by Clive Barker

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

I suggest "A collection of Short Stories and Poems" by Edgar Allen Poe. The stories included are such a breath of fresh air, in terms of complete originality. It's quite safe to say the experience will be a huge leap from today's mundane.
Unless you've really studied Poe's work, your going to find almost all of this stuff new. It's just a massive collection of his work.
