Questions about Panaeolus Tropicalus substrate???

Hey can you guys recommend which substrate is best to grow the Pan. species in if you are going to inoculate the substrate into cow shit? I was thinking of using finch seed then after that's colonized I would put the cake into a bag of sterilized cow shit and let that colonize then case the whole thing after it's colonized the cow shit. What ratio of substrate should I use to cow manure? Should it be like 1:3? Also, what temperature do Panaeolus Tropicalus species need to be incubated at? I've seen a lot of you guys using hay straw for your Pan. substrates. Does this work well for fruiting? I've never used hay before because I've heard it contaminates easily. Thanks Everyone. I'd really like to hear from someone who has experience growing the Panaeolis species. There are quite a few teks out there for growing them. Thanks. Catzeye

Hello!!! This technique has always worked for me: Mix: 5 cups vermiculite 3 cups manure 10 tblspns BRF 1.5 - 1.75 cups water (makes 10-12 half pints) Fill your canning jars, sterilize, and innoculate via the PF tek method. Once your substrate is fully colonized, case with 50/50 and a little lime. Since the manure is already added to your substrate, their is no need to spawn with manure and risk contamination. Just place your cased substrate into your humidity chamber and watch them grow! Give this a try and let me know what you think!!!!

Pardon my French everyone, but wholly shit Anno!! Thank you so much for posting that link. There is tons of information that I've never seen, especially on pans!!!! Looks like I'll be at the computer all night tonight, but that's good. Links from Anno save lives (or maybe just headaches, but still)!!! That's twice that a simple link from him has given me a bunch of new info.......Kudos to you sir!!

What temp should one incubate Pan. Trop. mycelium? 80-85? Is that to high? Thanks for your input everyone.
Cheers!
