Hey everyone,
I was forced to pick some of my shroomies this morning due to a uneven flush but thats ok I guess. The ones I picked came too 144 wet grams and that was less then half of the first flush. So I need to ask if I should have just waited or were they ready to be picked.

I couldnt wait any longer too pick the ones in the top of the pic right? I picked them and patched that area.
Here is a pic of the ones I was forced too pick cause I didnt want spores like everywhere.

Total weight= 144 grams
Here is a picture of whats left and not ready too be picked...probably tommorrow...

I also have another case in the chamber that is still pinning. Now here are my questions.
1.Does everything look ok for my 2nd grow? 2.Since I had too pick them in different stages, once I pick the ones that will be ready tonight or tommorrow what do I do about the pins that popped up? If you look at the pics you can see in the middle of the casing it started pinning since I put wax paper on it like roger told me now they are a few days behind the rest. My deal is I think my second flush is growing into my first....do I just keep letting them grow and harvest when ready?
3.Do the shroomies look like they are growing fully or am I doing something wrong, my first two ever were huge and I havent been able to grow anything big like that since then.
Finally I would like to thank anyone and everyone that contributes too this hobby and that helped make my time and money worthwhile. All I can hope is too keep learning and get more and more successful with time.

yes, they were ready for picking.
appears fine.
yes, let them mature. if you want to dunk, dunk with the pins attached. only remove the pins if they abort (turn black).
they are growing just fine.
correct. Learn and grow.
you'll get even pinsets down, in time.

I am not going to dunk I was planning on waiting till the rest of the almost ready ones open, pick them, patch the areas and mist the casings too near saturation a few times a day until the next pinset starts.
Is that a ok way to deal with it?? By the way are those average size for B+ or should they have grown bigger? Or are they sometimes big, sometimes small?
I know the dunking thing is recommended but I dont like all work and chances of contams that dunking brings with it.

that will be fine for water delivery. just don't saturate the casing or substrate.
no cube strain always grows big. your shrooms are a fine size I would wager.
mastering your water delivery technique, maintaining optimal environmental parameters, and having an optimal nutritious substrate will be very large contributing factors to size and weight of your crop. having a good isolate to start with will not hurt anything.
keep reading and practicing. take notes, because you will likely come to do many things at once. when one isolate, tray, tub, grow or whatever works very well, refer back to your notes and try your best to repeat it.
once you find an isolate and method that produces great for you, you are set for however long you wish.
it's a bunch of work, but well worth it.
