Puddling under cake?

In the perlite chamber, there is puddling under the cakes, and this is where most of the shroom growth is coming from. The shrooms have a white fluff around the stems and the shrooms seem smaller then normal and the yield seems low.
My guess is the humididty is too high. Might allowing some air exchange through a crack lid help more. I fan once a day to avoid CO2 build up.
Thanks.

fan more often. with cakes, leaving the lid open may be a bad idea. did you case (roll) your cakes?
what do you mean puddling?
what are your cakes sitting on?
yes, humidity is a bit high.

Not sure what rolling your cakes is?
By puddling, I mean when I pick up the cakes there is a puddle of water under them. The cakes are on canning lids, which are directly on the perlite.
Thanks

It's probably just condensation. Be sure there's a way for any moisture on the lids to drain off. You don't want your cakes sitting in water. RR

after your jars are fully colonized, dunk them in clean water for about 24hrs then "roll" the cake in fresh moist verm. Thats what rolling your cakes are. Does this before putting into the fruiting chamber.

also, lift up your cakes and put some vermiculite in the lid. make a little bowl type of shape. put the cake back into the lid, on top of the vermiculite. this will absorb the water for you. your whole cake, top, bottom and sides should be covered in vermiculite or pasteurized casing mix. after dunking, roll the cake in verm or casing and put some on top of the cake and in the lid too.
