Super pissed off

To make a long story short, heres what happened. I threw a cup out of a car window, was issued a ticket a week later, went to court, was RANDOMLY drug tested, said I would fail, since I smoked recently, ended up passing from drinking water in order to be able to urinate for the test, and was sentenced to a year of probation, 2x monthly drug testing, drug classes, community service, and fees.
This was in april, and I was told that If I completed everything (which I did) and stayed clean, then I would be fine, and it would be changed to non-reporting probation for when I go to college (out of state)
Now I just got a letter in the mail stating that I will have to continue drug testing. The letter is extremely vague, so Im not sure if it means I have to drug test until april, or just keep testing until I leave for college (a little under a month) but knowing this judge, who is very strict when it comes to drugs, I expect it means ill be testing when I go to college. Im not sure if it means I can test in my college town, or if I have to commute home twice monthly (6 hour drive) to test. Testing in my city wont be easy either, public transportation can only get me so far, and none of my friends have cars, meaning Ill have to get a taxi, then pay the fee for the drug test, which can be expensive. Im just pissed because I was told that it would be non-reporting once I go to college, and now it seems as though that has all changed.
All this has really just made me bitter towards the laws. I mean when I could smoke, i was like "yea man, legalize weed!". But after all this, it actually means something. It really hits you hard when your an adult, and you are punished for a personal choice that you made that doesnt hurt anybody else. It literally makes me sick thinking about how it has become such a political game, politicians will have harder drug policies to win votes. Why is alcohol legal, when weed isnt? And alcohol is a much more harmful drug compared to marijuana!
After all of this, I just really want to help towards legalization, it just sucks thinking of how to do it. I mean how much impact can a single person have? I plan on joining NORML and everything, but I just really want to make a difference. I plan on studying law, which maybe could help, but then again do I really want to be involved in such a fucked up legal system? I dont know what im going to do after college, but it would be neat to move somewhere with a more sensible system, maybe Nevada if the marijuana bill goes through (im not too familiar with it, but Im pretty sure it legalizes marijuana..?) or to maybe the netherlands.
Its just going to suck going to college and being around it but not being able to have fun. I could drink, but I dont really like being drunk at all.
Sorry for the rant, im just a little pissed off right now about this whole situation. Ill find out in a few weeks at my next meeting whether or not I have to keep testing in college, or whether the letter just meant until I go to college (a possibility). Thanks for listening

the bill in nevada will just allow you to have an oz i believe.
it most likely won't get passed though. it wasn't passed in the past 2-3 years, and even if it does get passed the Federal Laws > State Laws

Holy shat, dude. I'm 100% in your position, except I'm relinquishing my probation next month by going back to court. (probation sucks, I told my P.O. to just call up the judge and get him to send me to jail and get this over with.)
Anyways, after this whole experience (i've been on probation for awhile) I feel just like you, in that I'm so incredibly supportive of legalizing marijuana that it annoys my friends. Before all this BS I felt like: legalized? Cool I guess, but it would take some of the fun out of it. But FUCK that way of thinking. I so incredibly don't support so much about my government it sickens me.
I've been on NORML's website, and Emailed them a few times for light discussion, but I feel that I'd rather take a more active roll in fighting for this. Can't wait to think about it over a joint though.

haha EXACTLY! If there were a way to dedicate my life to legalizing marijuana, and have a decent, not bare bones lifestyle, i would start in that direction immediately.
Like before I wouldnt really care that it was illegal, because I could smoke it anyway. But after all this, it sickens me, just as you said. After I found out that I may have to be tested for an extra 9 months, I went out to smoke a few cigs. And just thinking about it frustrated me so much it made me want to cry. This seems like such a great country, but when people are denied such simple freedoms, it is so stupid!
And in the end, it all sucks so much, but they dont test for shrooms or acid!!!
PS. When I saw your name "the judge" I half expected to see a response from the judge in my case saying I was going to go to jail lol. Ive been very paranoid about people reading these posts, and I was relieved to see it was someone safe.

Kind of. The official offense was "throwing an object from a moving vehicle"

Sounds like bullshit to me. There is no reason to be drug tested for a littering offense.

I totally agree with you, unfortunately the judge was allowed to. I had no priors, and drugs were not involved at all.

Allowed to? or he just did it? What law allows a judge to randomly pick people to take drug tests for cases not relating to drugs? Just because he did it doesn't make it legal.

Actually the judge ways a she. And the real question is what law says a judge CAN'T randomly drug test people. My lawyer couldnt do anything about it, I couldnt do anything about it.

Man I got busted for growing weed for personal use.
When I said in the interview "I really don't think weed is that harmful or big of a deal" when they charged me, they twisted that into 'you showed lack of remorse for your crimes' like I killed someone or some shit.
Sentenced me to community service and counselling but I skipped state and they've forgotten all about it. Hahaha suckers

Nah, my name is The Judge because my dream car is a 1970 GTO Judge. And when I made my account I was SO CLOSE to buying a 1970 Pontiac LeMans sport and making it into a Judge clone, complete with Orbit Orange paint, black vinyl roof and spoiler, and those little pink side decals (Dazed and Confused, anyone?). Plus it had a built up 455, a 4 speed and Positive traction running through a 3.55 gearset. I was so upset when I called back and they said they already sold it, but I should have known.

Man, that's some fuckin weak shit. They shouldn't be able to randomly drug test you like that, at least as far as ethics go.
Hopefully some smart ass nuckas from NORML can help you out. I wish there was something I could say to help you out. That's seriously some pure bullshit right there.

Somebody called the police and got my plate.
And no, its not an alcohol thing, it was an empty plastic cup which i believe had green tea in it before. Alcohol was never an issue.

Yea, littering == not cool, but your punishment is way out of line. Either way, shit happens, I'm sure we can all agree. Not to trivialize your anguish, but don't overlook the lesson (even though it's hard when the punishment is so rediculous) that littering will bring some harsh week late karma.

Man that sucks.
I've droped trash off a trash trailer before by accident. This asshole followed me and called the cops on his cell.I told them it was not mine, it was there when I passed by and this asshole could not prove it. The cops told ass wipe they had to see it to do anything about it. I did pick it when going back. It was just how this person went about it.
How did they prove you did it?

There's something that's not being mentioned here... A cop never saw anything, so its your word against the other person.
It almost seems like 2+2=5 here... I don't know what it is... but this doesn't add up...

Apparently once your in the clutches of the law, they can throw in drug test for pretty well anything.
Although, Ive never seen em add it for something so minor.
Did they drug test you at your court appearance? Thats pretty well unheard of.
Isn't littering something you can waive(just pay and leave)?
This is like being drug tested for a speeding ticket.

They should have made you pick up trash instead of all that dumb shit...
I never get why people throw stuff out the window in the first place.
I used to stop my car if someone threw something out the window. They could pick it up or walk . Those kids don't litter to this day.
