Idea for the straw method.....

I was wondering....if you take a little bit out of the cake for the straw to fit for rehydration, from 12 cakes....and you put all that left over stuff together and through it back in your terrarim or whatever your setup is,....think anything would really grow on it? I mean, if you dont have to, why waste the substrate. Also, I just read on another post that the cake would heal its (fill back up, whatever you want to say) if you didnt put the straw in, but did drill a hole. Could you use some method along these lines to kinda keep multiplyng how many cakes and subcakes (had to give them some name) you have?

Ugh, this is a little tough. You wont have a lot of substrate to play with but it is possible that you could get a few fruits. However, I really doubt that it is worth the effort.
