I'm going to get a job

Part of me really doesn't want to. I haven't worked in about a year and a half. I think it would be healthy for me though. It would help to get me off the computer and give me a sense of purpose ().
Does anybody have a suggestion for cool jobs that are fun and part-time? It doesn't need to pay well.

construction. the pay can be decent and even if you have a bad day you still feel like you accomplished something because of the physical labor. plus it's a great way to get in shape.

Let me add some additional info: I go to school Monday-Friday 8:00am to 2:30pm. I can't work a daytime or full-time job.

Yeah, I was thinking about the whole "coffee-bitch" route. It looks easy and you get to chill with people.

That would be feasible if you transplanted my brain into the body of a decent-looking guy.

A good restaurant would work out with your schedule, it's usually fun if staffed right, and plus most waitresses put out.

The funnest jobs I've ever had with flexible hours were Chapters bookstore (I got to basically drink coffee and read books and mags all day and they have an awesome employee program), Laserquest (easy as hell! just sit and make sure kids don't kill themselves) Coffee shop, but I did work with Bom and I do love coffee (and if I'm lucky I'll have that job again on day) and bartending (its fun to just shoot the shit and make drinks)

Hm...motivational speaker you say? I am very dynamic, energetic, and charismatic so it just might work.
I want an easy job that is fun. Coffee shop sounds like my best option so far.

I'm in your boat too, I'm in school all day. But my night (6-11) job is pretty sweet. I work for UPS. They have alot of jobs for college kids usually, if you dont mind a bit of actual work. I get paid pretty good, and the bennies kick ass. 12+ bucks an hour, plus Vision/Dental/Health/Drugs. (Prescription Ones!) Oh, tuition reimbursement too.
Plus, they have UPS everywhere.
If you look into it and want to do it, let me know and I'll fill out an employee reccomendation card for you.

Thanks for the UPS idea. I have thought about that.
My reason for working isn't money though. I don't care if I earn minimum wage (although I would prefer to earn more). I want a somewhat "social" job where I get to meet new people and shit.

You can apply online for UPS...they'll let you know if a position is available at the end of your questionnaire if it is still the same as when I applied...

Yeah, its all online now. They dont even have paper applications.
I cant speak for the social situation, 'cause my job is totally different than most UPS'ers. I work at an airport hub, so things are kind of wierd here. But everyone gets along really good. We're always drinking after work, everyone smokes dope, and they have old ladies who sort letters that bake for us almost every day. (!!!)
I hate to sound like a company schill, but I've had alot of jobs and UPS really is the best one I've had. I have nothing but good things to say about the company. Its a quality place to work. I'll have my degree in 6 months, but I could easily see staying on here, at least for a few years.

ups is a suicide job, and people only do it for the money.
I highly reccomend, that you get a job as a pizza delevery guy, its a fun job
and make sure that you find a nice work atmosphere as well.

A guy I know said he was once offered the job of repo man in Washington, D.C. That sounds like a suicide job to me.
