Some good friends stopped by last night with loads of good beer. Having my final weekend of drinking before my Fall classes start. I've been on Coors Light and Bud Light all spring and summer when I've drank so it was nice to drink stronger, tastier beer.
What are you going to be drinking on this weekend?

It tastes different than last year's Summerfest, a little bolder and more filling. It has a great aroma and taste, just like all of the other Sierra Nevada brews...I can't describe it very well, but it is lighter and tastier than the Pale Ale (though I'm sure I'd switch the two up in the Winter). I'd certainly recommend it, it really outdid the Fat Tire, Guiness, and Heinekin last night in drinker satisfaction

Right on man, I'm def. going to try it....and Fat Tire, that's a magic hat beer right? I've never seen it in any of the beer stores I've been to.

You guys have got me craving a good brew now. I've cut down on my drinking immensely this past week. Might pick up a 6pack of summer fest to try though, never had it before. Do they sell it right at the grocery store next to the pale ale?

Hmmm...I'm not sure. I've only drank Fat Tire twice. Once at Bonnaroo from some CA folk, and my friends brought that from California, so I'm guessing us East Coasters are simply too far from the source or something
mattz: Yep, it was prominently displayed right by the Pale Ale in the grocery store. Some other Sierra Nevada they had stocked up on too...hmm...it was in a gray pack but can't remember the name, never tried it.

I know, it makes it hard to cut down on much of anything and still post here, with people talking about all kinds of drugs all the time.
Not that I'm really trying to cut down on anything right now, so it doesn't matter to me.

Sadly they didn't have summerfest at the store. I ended up getting a 6 of Corona's to go with my tacos for dinner.

new belgium (people who do fat tire) is located in colorado. Out of all the beers they produce i think fat tire is the worst. Blue paddle, loft, and bierre de mars are much better brews IMO.
Lately ive been drinking a lot of bass, picked up some avalanche last night, and will probably be grabbing a sixer of some newcastle tonight. I have to say tho, i really really miss my yuengling. Every time i fly home to visit it's all i drink.

You should try Sierra's Bigfoot ale, my friends and I had a bunch of those while camping in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Its a barley wine, not as good as the 22 oz's from Alesmith or Stone, but certainly cheaper and definitely tasty.

Heineken's about the lowest alcohol content beer here in the UK. I dread to think what Coors Light and Bud Light are like if you consider Heineken strong...
If you ever go to Amsterdam you can do a tour of the main Heineken brewery, after the tour it's free beer, as much as you can drink!

Damn, you're stopping drinking because classes are coming up? That sucks, I'm probably gonna start becoming an alcoholic again because of classes.
And that sounds awesome amatoxin. Its funny, for years and years i always planned to go to holland for the bud, but now I'll be going for the beer and art since i don't smoke anymore.
