Getting in the mood for salvia? Any tips?

Lately, I have been just sitting on salvia without any desire to do it. I love the experience, insight, etc. But for some reason, I just haven't felt "ready" to take the trip.
I realize this is normal, since salvia isn't a recreational thing, but I was wondering if anyone goes through these same cycles of not wanting / wanting, and if there are certain mental preparations you go through.
More often than not, I end up breaking a no-salvia streak when I introduce it to someone who has never tried it... typically I'll do it with them, to show it's not fatal, etc. But lately, I've been feeling the desire to smoke sage, however when I actually get it out and think about packing it up.. I lose the motivation.
am i just being a pussy? I've done it countless times, no negative experiences.

hmmm. at least half the times I thought I would welcome a visit to the other side I have spent time writing what was on my mind in a diary or reading a book and then putting the unused kit in my pocket.
I have gotten into carrying 2 strengths to accommodate inclination: one is my cig paper soaked in salvinorin extract that provides level 4 or 5 every time, and the other is rolled plain leaf in a spliff.
the merit of the tiny bit of salvinorin paper is no odor and certainty of aquaintance with what is beyond imagining, while the spliff method is characterized by detectible aroma and lessened sudden intensity but a longer lasting sense of going to the other side of the looking glass (level 3).
the stronger one is a good peek into reality's layers, and the weaker one is a groovy glimpse at what is in the looking glass world.

Sometimes you may think it is time, but when the moment's there you're held back.
Rationalists would say you change your mind when it becomes real for you, spiritual people might argue that the Salvia entity moves your spirit to hold you back.
Who is to say?
When its time, its time, I think those times of changing your mind have quite some significance.

I had the same thoughts, that it's somewhat symbolic, whether unconcious or otherwise, that I change my mind at the last second (usually when I go to pack a bowl, I decide against it).
Equally as strange, when I think on it now, most of my experiences with salvia have either been through peer-pressure (even though I am 99% of the time the person to introduce it), or by just taking it out of the blue, without much thought.

This feeling you get is perfectly normal. I can't begin to tell you how many times my friends and i would say ok lets do some salvia and then hours later we or one of us wouldn't be into it and it's not like we didn't want to do it. There just seems to be certain times when salvia is right and during those times you should do salvia mayb even a few trips but when the mood isn't right i would just wait it off till your up for the task.
