Weed is a hallucinogen. And at higher doses it can causes intense anxiety, so my guess is he started freaking out and the first thing that came to mind was Jesus, and it went from there.
Don't underestimate the power of this experience though, these things very often have big impacts on people. You should talk about it with him, try to figure out what happened and his interpretations.

walking into walls repeatedly, screaming, and then supposedly finding Jesus is not a normal reaction, and not something I'd contribute to anxiety... schitzophrenia or some other mental condition seems more likely. Regardless, it's clear that his brain can't handle the chemical, therefor he shouldn't be doing it for his own health

You're right, it's not a normal reaction, but I dunno if I'd be so quick to attribute it to a mental condition. There could be a number of other possibilities, or it could just be a freak reaction.
OneRainyWish, has your friend ever had a similar reaction while really stoned before?

Yeah you may want to suggest to your friend to lay off the drugs for a while.

Yeah but its not like its not normal to trip a little on weed. Hell, after a bonger or a fat joint, I focus on one of my mushie trips and its like I relive a more mellow version of it, just patterns and colors, if anything hes lucky he had such a crazy trip off of just pot. If hes so worried, next time don't do as much, or eat something if it gets intense. Peace

Of course it's normal to trip a bit off weed... But not convulse, scream, and fabricate hallucinations from nothing... But a freak occurance requires unique conditions, in which case it's clear that his brain might not have the right chemistry to handle these drugs. Granted, saying it's from a mental disorder is going a bit far, but you can't overlook it as a real possibility...
The fact is it happened, it wasn't normal, and it could easily happen again. You can't just overlook something like this because sometimes it doesn't seem to be a problem, sometime it's just a warning sign of what's about to happen...

that's nuts. . .
my gf has tripped out on weed before, but not that bad.
Sounds like your friend is bad at drugs. REALLY BAD.
Some people are just bad at tripping. I know a lot of people that won't smoke weed bc it scares them.
Just don't smoke with him anymore and you won't have to deal with it. If he choses to smoke on his own, that's his deal.

He was tore up from the floor up lol
I don't know though. I mean weed can get mighty weird. I haven't ever seen anyone that bad but a pal of mine once called 911 cause he thought he was dying after smoking some super high-octane BC Bud. When the paramedics got there they just laughed at him (up in BC).
