hey guys, i went out to the pet smart near me and i couldn't find something that said Coco Coir the things that i found that were near what looked like coir and these are the two things i got.
i got "Bed A Beast" thing by pet-teck products LLC and it says on it made from 100% natural fiber. but its not like the fiber stringy shit its looks like a brick of coco coir. is this ok? it says on the side of it Bed-A-Beast is made from 100% natural material;easily prepared.;odorless; non-toxic;non-abrasive to skin and eyes- highly absorbent; harmless if ingested. anyone know what the hell im tlking about hehe???
ok so i got that and i got this big ass bag of stuff that looks like cococoir. itscalled T-Rex Jungle Bed Premium Blend forest substrate. it says that its a superior combination of high-proformance substrates; blend of forest bed, coconut bark, calci-sand, and vermiculite; excellent medium for naturalistic and planted vivaria; nontoxic, resistant to mold and decay; slow release of humidity after wetting; breedertested and recommended. does this sound ok??? should i just try em both??? im clearly a noob and i was wondering if i did use em what should i mix em with?? some teks have Hpoo and verm and coco coir and some have verm and coco coir and some just have poo and ???? i don't know!!! so if i was to use these things what should i mix the bed-a-beast with??? what should i mix the t-rex jungle bed stuff with???? thanks guys for helpin out a noob! (oh yea and of course you'll get some props for helpin me out!!! ) thanks -SenselessRebel

the first is coir.
The second, sounds like a perfect casing mix! that is, if those ingredients are in the right proportions. Probably not, but why not pasturize a little bit PH test, and see how it works?

the first is coco coir
the second sound great but if it resists mold it might have fungicide in it so test it first.

I agree, I'd be reluctant to use the 2nd one.
