you can't case after first flush, the mycelium is done eating and colonizing and is trying to fruit. it won't revert back to vegetation mode no matter humidity, light, temps, etc. try again

don't crumble your cakes...
you missed that boat already.

dunk the cakes in the fridge for 24 hours.

roll them after dunking in pasteurized casing mixture.
if you don't have any, use vermiculite on it's own.

make sure there is casing on the top and bottom of the cake too.

place coated cake into the fruiting chamber.
keep the humidity around 95% or so and mist the cake so that
the casing material glistens.
fan after misting.

that is about all you can do.
keep parameters optimal, and dunk-n-roll.

If you want as big of a yield as possible using cakes, use more cakes.  Currently in my fruiting chamber I have 60 cakes fruiting.  They are fucking cheap and easy to make.  Why not make more?

No shit. Most people see to miss that excellent point. I've seen a lot of people waste a lot of time and energy, and sometimes even end up with failure when they could have just made more cakes much more easily.
