Thanks, simisu! Yeah, it takes space and time to grow all these, but I sure do love my plants. I haven't used the stevia yet, but I think this week I'm going to try a suntea with a couple stevia leaves thrown in to sweeten it. It has a somewhat strange sweetness, not quite like sugar, but supposedly it doesn't affect your blood sugar levels, and it doesn't decay your teeth.

More pics, yo! Firstly, this is a pereskiopsis grown outside. The growing tip branched for no reason, hopefully you can see in this pic:

Speaking of outside, my Shiitakes are fruiting most excellently! At some point I will update my pic thread in Gourmet&Medicinal forum. Here's a close-up:

I have yet to post a picture of my largest cactus specimen grown from seed. This is (I think, my memory is a litte hazy) a San Pedro planted in March of 2005. I had a small problem with scale earlier this year, but that's over now. Here he is next to my thumb for scale:

And here is one of my two recently successful grafts. A orange moon cactus, like the kind they sell for $3 practically everywhere, grafted onto a pereskiopsis:

I also had a successful graft of a Peruvian Torch (got it from an online vendor within the last year or two, not exactly sure where, so I can't say for sure that this is Peruvianus). It was growing quite slowly as a seedling, but as a graft it has almost doubled in size in only a few days. Before: After:
Comments? Suggestions?

Quote: Ummm, I just ran out of upload for tonite, but I happen to have a couple more cactus pics, so I'll share those. This first one is a cool little guy, probably $2.49 at Home Depot, brought him home and transplanted him, now he still looks pretty rough, but we have pups! My plan is to try and graft one of those pups onto a Pereskiopsis.
--> When grafting, watch out with the plants juices, they're irritating on the skin since I'm pretty sure that that plant is an Euphorbia, a fatplant.
Nice collection! How did you get rid of the scale on your largest trich seedling? How did you get rid of the spidermites on your mother salvia?

Thanks felixhigh. I have several of the psychotria viridis, but have been rather unsuccessful with other aya plants. Last year had a 18 inch tall Mimosa, but that died. And my yopo seedlings don't last for long. And I had some Caapi seeds that never germinated. Oh well...
Koala - Ya, I smile when I see a successful graft.
El_brujo - Thanks for the warning on that fatplant. It's actually not doing so hot cuz the landlady sprayed a bleach mixture on the deck and got a little on that cactus. It's now sad... I got rid of both the scale and spidermites by first moving the plant outdoors (both the trich and the salvia were inside since last fall). The I sprayed with neem oil every couple days for a couple weeks. That seemed to do the trick. I still see the occasional scale, but I just stab it with an exacto knife and keep a closeeye out for more.
