is it too late?!?!.... mushies growing in jars!!

ok so last time i posted i was dealing with pinning issues. and even tho i had those problems solved, i started my new job and didnt have to much time for my jars. so they sat in my closet, fully colonized for a couple weeks. when i looked at the jars last (about 6 days ago) there was no pinning i could see.
but since i now have some time off i was gonna go ahead and case the rest of my jars. and when i went to look at them just now and put them in the fridge over night to initiate pinning, 2 of the jars had very very small shrooms growing in them, and 1 had about 5 3inch long bluish shrooms growing
so what do i do?!?! I had already noticed an overlay problem with the casing i started a couple weeks ago. but i have found plenty of info on overlay and i can hadle that and i wont be neglecting and of this project because of no time for the next couple weeks.
so is there a good link for this situation or some info anyone could give me would be much appreciated!
any detail questions i left out above i can deff answer so just ask me!! thanks

I just delt with that.
I had a dozen wbs jars that were in a box in a closet. I forgot.
found them and they were all pinning.
I opened them up and picked the fruits off, I crumbled the wbs into pasteurized poo, and filled some monotubs. I made a cup of tea with the pins.
I value that spawn as half what it would have been. once mycelium has begun to fruit, telling it to colonize again doesn't work so well. so I had a spawn ratio of 2:1 on those two tubs.
so are the jars cakes or grain spawn? are you fruiting from the substrate in the jars or spawning with it? what size jars are they?
p.s. no need to put a jar in the fridge to initiate pinning.

tool is the best band ever....just a note
they are half pint jars done just like the pf tek tells me verm/gbr/water i wanted to case 2/5 jars and fruit in my fruiting chamber 3/5 jars
i thought cold shocking sometimes could initiate pinning, and it dosent hurt to try it.....but idk its controversial(sp?) right? ...idk
so cann i not case the jars that already have pinning on them? and i should just put the ones that have the mushies on them into the fruiting chamber after picking off the pinns and the mushies that are already growing....or should i leave them on and let them grow?

You can spawn a cake with pins right into manure/straw, or even use it for grain to grain transfers. It's a myth that pins will rot. I've proved that hundreds of times. Here's what happens when you put pins on a petri dish. The two pictures below were taken five days apart. The same thing happens regardless of substrate. Just be sure they're small, growing pins and not large fruits. You should pick the mature fruits. RR

can you not case a cake that has pins on it that are a little smaller than 1 cm?
and i am deff gonna trip off the larger mushies in the jars...i just measure 4 at about 3 inches...and they look nice to eat. yummy!
one of the jars has a very small pinn and i think im gonna case that, and fruit the rest in my fruiting chamber
i think i know what to do for sure....now just some reading on how to solve my other overlay problem and i will be good
any more info people would like to put in please do cuz im gonna be considering everything before i do my work on them tommorow because right now i have bball league to go kick some ass in thank you all much and keep it comming!

> It's a myth that pins will rot.
I can definitely tell you that pins WILL rot. Laying down on an uncolonized dish is a lot different than pins on a substrate.
Or is it only Shiitake pins that won't rot? Maybe that's just due to the non-viable spores in them! :P

Pins are live, growing mycelium. Live, growing mycelium does not rot. Aborts rot. The above are not shiitake. RR

Yes. You are right RR. I misread... and hastily typed up a post in my eagerness to tease you about the shiitake. My bad.

Bumping a really old topic here.
I'm in the same situation as the original poster, but I'm not quite sure what the decided 'best course' was.
Some of my jars look just normal pinned and they should fruit normally of course, but for the larger mushrooms, how do I know which ones should be picked? It seems it'd be easiest to just let them all fruit.
Thanks!
