has anybody else ever tried using a waterbed heater in an incubator before. i just got one from an old waterbed that burst. i think im gonna try it out. its got a thermostat and everything on it

Be careful with it.
Be sure the temp probe is in good contact.
Otherwise, you can create a fire hazard.
Do a google search on the subject "water bed fire hazards".

If you just have to use it, at least, plug it into GFCI plug.

The GFCI is designed to protect people from severe or fatal electric shocks Because a GFCI detects ground faults, it can also prevent some electrical fires and reduce the severity of others by interrupting the flow of electric current.

yeah i was going to mention that as well. those things can be a little dangerous so do be carefull. If anything happens, remember to remove electrical power first then take care of the situation..

after messing with it for a while i decided it wasnt such a great idea. it heats up too fast and would be too unstable. oh well thanks for the input
